I could never get into them. If you want some similar (and better, IMO) bands, check out Yndi Halda, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

Saw these guys play at Laneway festival in Adelaide a few months back. I was heaps high on pills and the set kinda freaked me out so i had to go see another band lol.

I bought one of their albums back in the day- the one with all the words on the cover, and my overall conclusion is that it's pretty hard to get enthusiastic about something like this. I suppose it's supposed to be like a 'sonic landscape' or some such thing, but I found it all to be very boring... sort of like listening to a bunch of Coldplay instrumental tracks.

Seriously, if I'm going to listen to some long, drawn out songs, they're not going to be centered around the same old guitars-and-keyboards shit-- seriously, why not at least try to make it interesting???

They're good, but tbh there are better post-rock bands. I suggest you check out...
    Slint
    Sigur Ros
    World's End Girlfriend

and of course the greatest post-rock band and one of the greatest of all time Godspeed You! Black Emperor

I love them - they feel a little lighter and, I don't know, more uplifting than Godspeed; though I like GS!YBE much more.

Saw Explosions on their 10th Anniversary tour stop in LA. Probably the best live show I have ever been to! These guys are amazing.

I just wish they had better art for their merchandise. It's not really fitting with their music.

Explosions in the sky is beautiful music to just wander to. My first trip I took three tabs and most of the day was spent walking and remarking at how wonderful this earth is and listening to Explosions' albums Those who tell the truth. . . and How Strange Innocence.

Check out Red Sparrowes, another wonderful post-rock band with members of ISIS in it.

I haven't listened to them while tripping yet, only while stoned haha. It was quite amazing, but I love just listening to them even while sober. It makes everything very cool. :)

I just started listening to M83..they seem like a really cool band! Definitely worth checking out.

Explosions in the sky is great, especially First Breath After Coma. <<< is one of the best songs I've ever heard, ever. Unbelievably powerful.
