It's as easy as 1-2-3. Check it out right here:

    1. Pre-paid 'Pay As You Need' Automobiles with ready car insurance included. Not a monthly bill's worth either would that car insurance be. And it should be so that you wont even have to drive the car back either. So say if you need a car for an hour, you pay for it for that length, then a tracker device on the car allows for it to be retreived by somebody. This would create jobs because somebody has to come retreive those automobiles right from where they're left where the computerized timer in them ran out. There are lots of ppl who cant have and keep a job or cant even get to a job so they can have one because they dont have a job so that they can afford a car and the insurance. Well Pre-paid 'Pay As You Need' Automobiles would help ppl under that kind of a jammy situation out. The different lengths of time one may use pre-paid 'pay as you need' automobiles should vary to suit ppl's way of living.

    2. Pre-paid 'Pay As You Need' Apartments and Houses with pay-per-use utilities and appliances along with the things considered as luxuries inside. You know how you have to put in money into a vending machine or an arcade machine for an end result? It should be like that, and where each of the utilities and appliances and luxuries (with a computer machine on each of them or with one single computer machine regulating them by multiple connection) accepts cash money or credit card to make payment toward the use of those things. If by one computer conneted to those many things, then it should allow you rates per different lengths of use time to certain utilities and appliances and luxuries. If you could live high class as if rich for a day this would be how to do so. This would become a boom because there are even ppl who have a home who want a home away from home. Etc. Plus, want to see what it's like to live in an apartment or house set up in a pre-paid 'pay as you need' style at first for a day or week just to see if you'd like to even start actually buying it for keepers last? Well be a guest welcomed to this idea then cause it would aim to help ppl accomplish things like that.

    3. Pre-paid Gorcery Stores. Where you pay in advance in the amount of what things you're intending to get online or at the store...you dont come in to where the items are because instead store workers get those things for you by an application/receipt that can be matched to your ID. This would prevent theft. This would prevent terrorist from coming into stores and tempering with items and wiping who knows what agents on items in stores. This would also create more jobs because there would have to be enough ppl to satisfiablely fulfill the customers request by app/receipt. Request an apple and dont like the one fetched? Simply have 'em to put it back and get a better one. Would be no sweat. Plus, no one would have to worry about being over priced by someone in a checkout lane any more because you add the amount up and factor in any sales.

Think any of those ^^^ should come into play in this nation? If not, why not?

Let me add to #3. There should also be delivery availible for customers that pre-paid for their groceries. Just like pizza delivery, but it might not be as quick. It might be like ups where it could take 1-3 days for delivery. That option would be something useful for many. Like ppl who cant stand waiting in a line for anything. And ppl who are old or handicapped would use this option to their benefit.

so much free public transportation, in harmony with nature, that no one would even wan't to own a car, or at least nothing as big and awkward and clumsy and wasteful of resourses as the kinds of cars we have now.

free places where you could use tools to make things from materials you find free in nature and drag in there, maybe using those little people sized trains to get them there.

free rudimentry shelter that would be fairly indistructable but crude so that anyone could stay in their own little part or corner of it and fix that up however they felt like with whatever they found and of course a culture where nobody would mess with anything that was in someplace like that where anyone was obviously living.

certainly no such thing as building codes or closed and garded borders.

vending machines that would respond once a day or once every three or four hours to your thumb print instead of money.

nothing in law or culture that would prevent or regulate your making and providing these things for others and doing so as a form of creative expression.

same goes for making yourself your own kind of shelter from found objects and materials in nature.

number one seems rather practical, actually, my college has a sort of program where they rent out cars for weekend beach trips and the like
but number two i think would become impractical, people'd trash the place! the appliance idea is neat though, if it was a sort of pay-by-the-month deal rather than a vending machine deal, that'd drive people nuts
like pixeewinged said they're fundamentally good ideas :)

themnax, i like all your ideas a lot. if the world was like that it'd be wonderful.
but this particularly has always bothered me. possibly at some point building codes were there to protect the consumer but now they seem more in place to protect (or rather, support) the manufacturer: if you're not allowed to make your own shelter and it has to be a certain size, etc, you're required to support all of those certain industries: contracting/construction companies, even the power company, not to mention paying the government fees for building permits, zoning, safety inspection and all that. these sorts of things impede rather than protect us...

Theres a lot that can stem into this. I agree the books need to be gone through and codes be showing implementation reasoning.

the majority of the codes, is mainly a death/injury log. Esp the electrical code book. Meaning the code is in there, due simply to an occurance happend and someone either died or was injured/caused mass damage. Hence we made a code in order to prevent this from occuring again.

However, Don't mix this into the codes giving well with companies and construction... They don't. My cousin is a drafter for specific areas and projects and listens to how said company wants to cut corners on costs for thier buildings. (Not like they aren't drastically cutting corners already ~ ) But they will just have to live with it.

But some laws are blatant BS. AKA one area I know wants an individual house to have acre's of land surrounding it purchased before you can even build. Although when said contractor declares wanting to utilize a site and cram houses right next to each other, the county then bends twines in allowance. ~

These are good ideas, though alot of tweaking to be thought of, its def a different direction, But I think the costs would consume the ideas out the window. It may create jobs, but how much value would be allotted to the job considering the other "costs" to maintain.

Gas/Milage/Distance would be the top issues to this with the corporate world as it is~ .. They would see it as paying for someone to send the car to you then finding return trip back would cost additional expense then a normal rent car outlet.. Same as with a retrieval service. It would be helpful but the company would sky rocket priceing due to convieniance. Hence be unaffordable to those that need.

Though, My trip over to california had a better system setup with thier transit. There is a one time cost that residents can get, or if vistor per day cost $5 an individual day, Lower it goes if you buy multiday passes. And the cards can be used on all thier Transit buses in the area. Was realy nice.

Though interesting idea .. Its been done in the past, and made fun of since.. Its like the frig in the corner where you have stick coins in to use when you get up :p, or the light that stays on for so long then shuts off with out payment. Nowadays this all can be tracked computer wise, but its a gold diggers dreamland doing this. People will casually do what they like, not auto thinking theres a fee attached, then come to the end of the stay, a list is printed out of what you actually used  in which doesn't register with what you remember :p.

More affordable houseing would be the better route in the end. for the money spent into it will be permenant and the house bill will eventually come to an end, whereas renting you will always have to pay and watch the money disapear.

    3. Pre-paid Gorcery Stores. Where you pay in advance in the amount of what things you're intending to get online or at the store...you dont come in to where the items are because instead store workers get those things for you by an application/receipt that can be matched to your ID. They have this now, in a sense. Though mostly Elderly use it to some point. You can order online and have your groceries delivered to you. But the tricky part is, the store picks it out for you and hands it over. This is not bad for most stuff like soda, cans and the like, however fruits/vegitables and the like where you normally go in and pick your own out of what is there, would put these into a very strict position which most would not like. Hence as you referred. The Apple that you do not like, you will hand back. They will replace it, but alot of costs will be factored in and you would not be able to dismiss all without the company just giveing an entire refund and ending the transaction.

Lots of the time frame work Vs. hourly employee and equipment costs come into play with this type stuff. Which kills the flexability for it. I cannot keep going back to location A. to fectch what you like, however i can fully refund the product and move onto my next stop.
