check out the this thread: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=277672&f=120 it has a TON of info. (thanks Twizz) I will give you a quick tutorial but I want to strongly recommend that you either go to google and search "injection harm reduction" or "how to inject" or "finding a vein to inject" all of which got me good results and a VERY comprehensive manual called the IDU Manual or IV Drug Users Manual. Maybe google search "IDU manual" or even better use the filetype search on google, so input exactly what's next into your google search box: filetypeDF "IDU manual" . Either way, you need to get more information than what I am going to give you here if you want to inject yourself safely. *First, find a safe, quiet, clean place where you won't be disturbed. *Second, wash your hands and forearms with anti-bacterial soap (i recommend the dial brand of foaming anti-bacterial hand soap) *Third, Sterilize EVERYTHING you will touch during the injection process. for example: countertop, tourniquet, syringe (if you are re-using a needle, which is something you should NEVER EVER do), and whatever else you need. *Fourth, take the tourniquet with one hand, and drape it over your arm right above the crook of your elbow, then hold one end in your mouth while pulling the other end around and looping it under and through so it is easily removable. You don't want it too tight or it'll cut your circulation off too much and making the plunger of the syringe difficult to push down even if you're in the vein. NOTE: do not tie the tourniquet in a knot. that is dumb. if you're using something you have to tie, suck it up and go to the local needle exchange and get a proper tourniquet or go to home depot and get some thin rubber tubing, either way, using a belt or a strip of torn fabric is ghetto street style, which is also oops I didn't care about washing my hands and shot up in the gas station bathroom and ended up with Hepatitis -C style. Take the time to prepare and do things right, your body will thank you for it. *Fifth - find a vein that sticks out enough that you can see its blue-green silhouette and can follow it up and down your arm a little ways. I have found one of the easiest is the large vein right in the crook of your elbow, the one that pops out when you extend your arm as far as it can go. But each persons' veins are different, in fact, the veins on your left and right arms are different so you have to find a spot that works for you. Don't use the same spot too frequently (my rule is no more than 4 hits in a row within a 1 inch length of the same vein) or else you'll get noticeable needle scarring, sometimes really bad needle bruising (depending on your skin and whether or not you blow a hit). Also, you'll develop scar tissue inside the vein and eventually the vein will collapse causing decreased circulation and possibly worse problems. *Sixth - after picking your spot, take an alcohol swab (can be purchased in boxes of 100-1000 from any drugstore or pharmacy) and clean the area, I recommend a circular area of about two inches in diameter. Remember not to use a circular motion because that can leave dirt or bacteria on the skin - always wipe in one direction. If you cant get pre-prepared alcohol swabs you can buy a bottle of 70% isopropl alcohol and a bag of cotton swabs (not balls but the squares) and make your own. *Seventh - Use your free hand to slide the needle into your arm at approximately a 30 degree angle. Depending on the gauge (size) and length of the needle, you might be pushing it all the way in, or you might just put the needle partway in. I use U-100 insulin syringes with a 29 gauge needle. they work great and the needle is so tiny you can hardly feel it go in. However, you can feel it a little, and after a few successful hits, you'll be able to feel a little jolt of pain when the needle actually penetrates the vein successfully. But, you need one more step before you hit. *Eighth - You need to pull back GENTLY on the plunger of the syringe to see if blood comes out of your vein and into the tip of the syringe. If you are not in the vein, you will just suck a small air bubble into the syringe, and you'll feel a lot of resistance when trying to pull back. If you are IN the vein, a little squirt of nice, dark red blood with burst into the syringe. at that point you can go right ahead and press that plunger down. Do it gently, that way if anything goes wrong (for example if the needle slips out of the vein during the injection) you can stop and pull out. *****NOTE**** Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT inject if you have not hit the vein properly and pulled back and gotten blood to enter the syringe. If you inject the hit without being properly in the vein you will cause yourself a world of hurt in the form of an abscess, or a big bulge under your skin that is discolored and often gets infected and can lead to sepsis and/or gangrene. So if you want to die, or loose your arm (potentially), go ahead and shoot up without registering the vein properly. *Final step - once you've injected the hit, slowly draw the needle out at the same angle you pushed it in, that way you will cause minimum damage to the vein, and minimize the size of the mark the needle leaves at the injection site. after the needle is out, remove the tourniquet. NOTE- sometimes the drugs wont hit you till you remove the tourniquet because the circulation of the vein you hit is cut off until you remove it, then it all floods in at once Alright, now you have a choice. I take a piece of cotton gauze (can be purchased at any drugstore) and put pressure on the injection site while I lie back in bliss. Then after five minutes or so I swab the site again with an alcohol swab, let it dry, then depending on the state of the site, I put a little lotion on it. Finally, If I need to I take another gauze square, fold it in fourths, and take a piece of medical tape and tape it over the injection site for 12 hours to prevent infection and to put pressure on the site if there's a bruise. You can choose to do these things, but they are primarily cosmetic. I would make sure you clean the site after the injection, but after that, you can do what you want. Hope that helps, and please, please, THINK TWICE before using my information. Things can go wrong FAST with IV drug use. I say that out of personal experience. If you do decide to shoot up, then get more info than just mine, PLEASE. Also, please remember I am NOT a medical professional. All this info is purely my own experience and does in no way constitute a recommendation for anyone. I do not recommend IV drug use. Good luck
Verisimilitude explained it better then well said.. and his advice was good.. spend some time reading on how it is done.. there are tons of websites that explain how to do it so you DONT mess it up. its worth takin the time to read about, rather then messin it up and having serious problems. and yea, it can seem dangerous and complicated, but its quite simple. just make sure not to have alot of air in the syringe, and make sure you Sterilize everything. Also, go easy, the first bunch of times u shoot up, it can be difficult to find a vein thats good.. you want blood to suck up into the syringe, thats ho u know u have got the right spot i dont actually shoot, but i know some1, and have known others who do it..
man as far as cleanliness and safety follow what theyre telling you, im not going to explain all of that because its obvious, use sterile shit. but tie with something, belt, string, i use my belt or the cord to my electric razor. dont tie too tights just wrap your arm up about an inch above your elbow and get those popped out brother
first of all what kind of syringe are you using?? a insulin syringe i would hope. anything bigger is gonna leave huge bruises
if you are asking all these questions and what not i would suggestest you dont use a needle cause u seem to be a lil too unsure for your own good..........but first of all you need to make sure there are no air bubbles in ur syringe....plus once you find a vein and you have it in ur arm and u think u have the vein u pull up a lil and if you draw just a lil bit of blood you golden thats how you know its deep enough and there not going to be that deep in ok .......but once again if ur so unsure i would recommend it
Dude, once you push the needle into your vein, you will feel it in your skin, and then another pop when it goes in your vein, draw back the plunger, bringing blood into the syringe to make sure you are in, then push that plunger back in, pushing that shit into you for a nice rush, with whatever you are shooting, hopefully something good for your sake.
