My gff said soy milk isn't any good for you because it produces lots of mucus in the body and it contains estrogen. Is that all true? I switched because I am becoming lactose intolerant, I can have it with my cereal and not feel sick afterward.
I've heard a lot of girls having complications with Soy product.. increased cramps/bleeding... and im not talking slightly increased.. like complete and udder pain and bleeding like a stuck pig.. i've also heard of it throwing off menstrual cycle.. ect.. so be careful
it can affect the thyroid...and yeah bleeding/cramps for sure...my dad drinks it daily...i dont know if it affects him the way it does me/some women...but i think he should go back to regular milk...to bad im the one that got him started on soy milk...fuck me
I'm lactose intolerant so I drink LACTAID milk. They put an enzyme inside the milk to eat up the lactose so all that is left is lactose-free milk. I use this product daily but I am thinking of just buying the tablets and buying organic milk (The real kind; not the one that just says its organic... the kind that comes from farms that let their cows roam free and don't constantly inject them with toxins). I use soy milk a lot too and haven't noticed any changes, especially with mucus. I read a study years ago that soy milk may actually reduce brain mass over the years =/. Haven't heard anything about estrogen. What kind of milk are you drinking? Farm fresh or cow treated bogus milk?
99% of soy grown in america is GM, that includes soy marketed as organic. something like 70% of soy grown world wide is GM.on top of that soy has a naturally occurring toxin that the japanese eliminate by fermenting the soy. the manufacturers of soy products dont bother with getting rid of the toxins.. truth is soy and soy products have been linked to everything from thyroid problems tto brain atrophy. its not the health food they would have you believe it is. at least not the way its sold in america.. heres some interesting articles.. http://www.healingdaily.com/detoxification-diet/soy.htm http://www.***********/article/soy/avoid_soy.htm http://www.soyonlineservice.co.nz/ http://www.vegsource.com/harris/brain_aging.htm http://articles.***********/sites/ar...our-brain.aspx
I drink organic soymilk and see nothing wrong with it. People love to overreact about soy products, lately. I say, do your own research. There's also rice milk, hemp milk, and almond milk that are dairy free and good to try.
yes please research soy and GM soy in depth. i encourage everyone to find out the truth for themselves.. the information is out there despite the multi billion dollar industry trying to cover the facts up.. your long term health depends on it..
according to what i have read soy needs to be fermented the traditional way before its safe. and thats only for its natural toxins.. the whole GM thing is why i wouldnt touch the shit.. try this quote on for size.. I'm lactose intolerant too.But as already mentioned the solution is lactose free milk.BTW once one reaches adulthood,it's really not important to drink milk, unless one loves milk.---People should stay away from this soy milk(and other products) junk.
You never have to drink milk period. You need calcium. There are many ways to get calcium. I'm done with all kinds of milk, even rice milk and almond milk. I just take elemental calcium supplements and get a good amount of it from vegetables, meat and grains. Soy milk is painfully high in omega 6 fatty acids and unless you're extremely deficient in omega 3 (which most people are so who knows) there more harm in it than good.
I'm not sure about the soy milk deal, I keep meaning to do some research on it. Almond and rice milk are amazing, and so is hemp milks. SOOO yummy!
I've been drinking soymilk now for about 4 years now. But I never had any problems. My "period" is the same as it always has. No change.
I drink silk soymilk. Very Vanilla . i LOVE it. and it does not affect my monthly bleeding or give me cramps ( which i dont get anyway)
I drink soy milk on occasion, but I usually drink rice milk. When all I can afford is regular milk, I get the 1% and fill a nice, tall glass full with some ice.
I'm sure everyone reacts differently. I seem to be going through soy overload and am going to try switching to rice milk. With reference to the estrogen, apparently soy consumers are more likely to produce female offspring! I dunno. But then again, there was a recent buzz that it'll turn you gay and you can guess how that went.
