history has proven over and over again that, in MOST cases those who abuse power, will not quitely stop the abuse.
power must be taken from them... sometimes by means of force. and, sometimes blood will be shed.

that guy is a saint. i wish we were all saints!
some of you, have never really experence those who are monsters... human monsters, that have the image of a saint.

This reading seems to be trying to emancipate itself from reality, something the New Age is very good at. Have you ever seen a real world problem solved by ignoring it and thinking about things that make you happy? If you want to solve a problem, you have to acknowledge its existence. Thinking happy thoughts will not make the world around you a better place - thoughts are powerless to change the world unless translated into actions.

This. How exactly are these different 'views of reality' related to each other? Where are the divisions? These questions have no answers, because we're not speaking in concrete terms. The writer of this tract didn't make one actual statement in the entire thing. It's all subjective generalization, open to the interpretation of anyone who reads it. The fact is that there are no separate 'views of reality' - there is only one reality, and it is our job to perceive it accurately, as we have the power to do, not to lie to ourselves about it. We cannot pretend that things are 'true in a way, but on a higher level are not true if we don't allow them to be' (not a direct quote). Reality is real, truth exists. Any attempt to deny their existence is mere self-deception.

    If you say so.... :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

He never said that reality isn't real, I think you just want to rail against "new age" ideals.

Reality is very real, but it IS your mindset and attitude and actions which determine how you perceive it, what your perspective is about it and so on and so forth.

If your mind is shit, your reality will be shit.

If your mind is disciplined and not out of control, then you will be able to CHOOSE and make informed decisions, to shape your reality on YOUR TERMS.

People perceive reality differently, but your perception cannot change the fundamental nature of reality. Problems cannot be imagined away. Saying they can be implies that there is no reality. This is the basis of most of the New Age beliefs, so forgive me if I have little sympathy for them. As I have said, I used to believe in it myself, so I know exactly what kind of mental state it fosters.

I dont think that is exactly what the "New Agers" are trying to imply.

Maybe the pansies, but it does take action to make progress.

I agree, you cannot imagine problems away, but you CAN raise your thinking so you dont react to it as a problem, negatively and fearfully, but make an informed decision, and so that you can be aware of all aspects and outcomes of said problem, positive AND negative.

Ghandi once said, "You be the change you wish to see in the world."

My point is that you make conscious choices every day, and it is dependent upon your level of consciousness (logically) they way you react and act, and that YOU are ultimately responsible for your own destiny.

Its true, most people these days have lost much of their clarity of thought and their Will, they dont know how to take a stand for what they really believe in. Courage is like a muscle, if you dont exercise it regularly, it atrophies.

I think all the poster is tryin to say is "Don't focus on evil for too long. Eventually put those thoughts to better use"

It's important to realize evil, but you can't dwell on it. You can't be on defense the whole game, offense is a must.

People may consider universal healthcare a terrible thing. But they might of never once dreamed about how it could be a miracle. They can spout for hours about the oppressions of the government, but they couldn't tell you for half as long about a benevolent one. Don't be a hypochondriac, just go through the motions of sickness and feel deep down the day of perfect health. We fear the conspiracies, but we don't have plans that will trump these evil forces.

Happiness/love heals, stress/fear kills. Happiness and love is freedom, stress is restriction. It is a basic principle of life.

That's the message. Not ignoring evil and wishing it away. You have to understand it deeply.

I agree completely. But I fail to see that as being the original message. It seems to be another repetition of what I have heard countless times: that we somehow have control over reality just by thinking, that thinking about bad things makes bad things happen, so just think about good things and everything will be okay. I realize that there are extremes, and that one should not think exclusively about negative things. But to ignore their autonomy of existence by somehow asserting that it is your perception of them that grants their existence is a concept that I find philosophically repulsive.
