This is not the first...second...third...or even fourth fucking time I've had money come up missing in my account. I'm pretty fucking irate over it and it's a damn good thing they closed 15 minutes ago or else someone would be getting a new asshole right about now. WHAT THE FUCK? How does $50 just disappear??? I am SO fucking mad. And they pretty much have my figurative balls in a vice grip because I'd have to drive 15 miles to do any banking if I went to another credit union, because they conveniently are the only credit union in town and fuck if I'm going to start banking at Wells Fargo. Now my fucking car insurance is going to be late until I figure out where the fuck that money went.

See, the regular banks here are the ones that have all the crazy fees and shit. I've had an account at the credit union since I was a baby, a savings account to start off with, then when I turned 17, I opened a checking account. And it really wasn't until I started regularly putting money in my account that it started disappearing. Now I KNOW there's something fishy, because the only money I put in there is what I need to pay bills, and suddenly that bill money is gone and the bill's still not paid??? WTF?

    Mine doesn't :)

So, I dunno about your usually.

I am familiar with the share system, but I've only ever seen one that does it that way.

The only fees I've ever had to pay have been the $15 bounced check fee. And they always send me mail letting me know that they're doing it.

The federal bailout was not enough, they have started the K-R Plan and they thank you for that $50! :D

around here they pull out a certain amount...maybe like $50 for every thousand...and put it aside as a share in the union..used for loans and investments to make profit for the union members....if youre lucky you get dividends payed back as a profit share type thing.... .but when you leave they give all your share money back...are you sure its not like that?

there must be something written as to why it was withdrawn

Well, my life has turned all sorts of topsy turvy today and the electric company is now claiming we are 3 months behind, even though I remember paying them every month on time. I have to go to the bank first thing in the morning and shovel out $50 more so that our electricity doesn't get shut off. I'm going to get a bank printout anyway to look for the original missing $50, but also to find where the electric bill was paid so that I can have proof we paid it so that maybe this huge sum we're dropping on our electric bill will be credited to us. Now that original $50 is just a drop in the bucket compared to what I'm facing.

That must be canadian. None of the credit unions use that system here. They make their money through interest on loans like normal banks but they don't skim profit off the top.

Kinky Ramona, that sucks :( I've only ever had good dealings with credit unions.

You should get the internet and do your banking that way.

lol, I have the internet, but I haven't...and probably still won't set up an account online. That'll give more access to my shit than I even want.

You will have more choices for banks and fees. Dont rush into it. See what the local Banks provide online so if you do have a problem (serious one) you can go into a branch.

In my experience, it doesnt matter where the bank is, you dont get better customer service due to being in the branch.

I get 5.5% interest for having over $1000 in an online savings account. Its the way to go these days.
