Night bike rides!

im sure lots of you have experienced smoking and biking. its a real good time. i remember seeing a thread about that a while ago...but this summer ive really gotten into riding my bike at night. i bought a 20 dollar headlight and tail light set from a store. i think its like 10x better. ESPECIALLY for smokin that herb. I go out around three or four times a week now. ill leave my house anywhere from about midnight to two and ill just ride all over the city. the wholee freaking place...all roads except highways are free game. the city is asleep and the roads are completely empty. Ill ride down the middle of high street all the way to downtown..a good 15 miles..while listening to music and making plenty of stops to either do a little graffiti or smoke some bud. I usually bring some stencils i made and spraypaint and i hit up lots of mcdonalds, wendy's, gas stations and the wal mart with some anti-corporation goodness. Some nights ill be out for a good three hours. It took some adjusting of my schedule, but sometimes ill get back around five in the morning when the morning birds have already started chirpping. but there is just something very amazing about being out and about in the sleeping city with no ties or obligations for the night. you just get to adventure for a bit and it iss sooo fun. you can just stop in the middle of the road, get off your bike and take a hit of ganja. ahhh. just thought id share my fun with you all. maybe some of you could get into night riding =] ill be out tonight!

that sounds badass, but where i live theres too many hills for my fat ass to ride a bike

 

I'll be going on one tonight...wish I had gone on more this summer, but the shitty weather has kept me indoors. We finally have some warmth so it's a perfect night to go out.

 

Riding a bike in the night time out here is really scary. I had to ride a bike to my neighbors house a couple weeks ago, I rode as fast as I could cause it was just woods surrounding me

 

^hahaha yea i almost hit a deer once when i came flying around a corner. that about scared the shit out of me. hahaha.

 

I'm really scared of riding in the dark now.

Ever since I almost got hit when I had to bike home from far away.........

i just got back from chilling outside under the stars smoking a jay, its so peaceful out during these ohio nights, not sure what part of ohio you are in tculi, im in Columbus, and my city is so dead, its so quiet and peaceful, i can completly understand why you love to go out during nights like these

I love going out and exploring, but since I work so much I haven't really been out at night in a while. I may go on a bike ride right fucking now.

 

Ive been going out for night walks.. But certainly doesnt compare to night rides... Its fun but theres always traffic on the streets even at 1 and 2 in morning so its not to condusive to it... Also i ussually dont like to go to far into the city so i dont get mugged or stabbed haha There are a bunch of shit disturbers if i go too far down

 

YES!! Bike riding at night is so much fun!!!!!!!!!!! I am in dayton ohio and we got bike paths all over
I'm usually delivering pizza until 4am, so I can see that the city is not really asleep. I get sent to all the woke up spots.

i ride a bike with no brakes at night...

 

my bikes almost never have brakes in the back, but the front ones work TOO good.

and never owned a headlight.

usually if im riding at night im drunk/high too.

I dont have a problem going forward.. but when you have a drift back from a incline, its hard to get your foot in the tire going backwards...
Good free wheel bike too, but got new pads and my cables all broke soon after, wtf. but I leave it out in all the weather...
I got a brand new one at my moms. Strangest thing happened with that bike. I was using it in the extreme cold and brought it in their house (Crackhead neighborhood) and they have the heat so high my inner tubes POPPED like gunfire. Which was a funny story too,, cause my mom thought shoots came through her dinning room. Im not ready to fix it til the calipers on mine go next, they are getting there..

 

if youre going up a hill and you slow down, then stop, then start rolling backwards, why wouldnt you just stand up on the ground? the only reason i can think of not doing that is if youre bmx jumping or something.

thats crazy about your tires popping. did you inflate them outside in the cold?

 

yeaps I filled them off the car compressor outside, took about a 4mile ride in the snow and ice. When I came back I brought the bike in the house, and POP ,,, POP.. took like 10minutes though.

cant reach the ground fast enough only happened twice, usually when I cant shift to easy, but it wanst to bad.

 

Physics are fun.
