how any number you multiply by nine, you take the digits, add them together, and get nine?

    9*9 = 81
    ▲8+1 = 9

Well, here is something you may not know

in different base systems (octal, hexadecimal) the number below the base does that too

in octal, for example (open windows calculator, I'm waiting...... View > Scientific > Click the radio button that says "Oct")

    7*3 = 25
    ▲2+5=7

Feel free to experiment with this as much as you want

in hexadecimal, 15 does the same thing.

and, in nonal (base nine) eight does the same thing

now, you too can amaze someone else with a fun piece of number theory.

i thought you were gonna say the trick where if you turn them upside down, they become sixes!

oh come on, that's not bad at all,

I didn't even write the proof out.

it's a way to process numbers MUCH more quickly. all you have to do is train yourself to convert base systems quickly (which really isn't that bad) and you're set.

    I can process numbers fine.

I'm actually really good at math.. Numbers just seem uninteresting and stupid to me.

    Not in my opinion.

I probably have a mathmatical brain.. I should've chosen to do something with math. But it's so boring.

I'm just not passionate about numbers.

    I'm sorry. :p

it's not boring if it's being used properly, the only problem is it's never taught in a useful way.

Some people like it, some people don't. It's just the way it goes.

I don't believe it's been given a fair shake by most people because of the way it's been presented though.

it's presented in an ATROCIOUS way.

I mean, fuck, you'd turn into a lesbian if the only cocks you ever saw were riddled with disease.

that's practically what people do to math, and you have to come at it sideways to get a good running start at it (carpentry, cryptography, lock picking)

any number you multiply times nine you get a value whose digits add up to nine (eventually)

    9*9 = 81

    8+1 = 9

    9*7=63

    6+3=9

    9*11=99

    9+9=18, 1+8=9

Well, that's only because we use a base 10 number system.

    it's an anomaly.

interestingly enough, in a base 3 number system, the same thing happens with 2's, in a base 8 the same thing happens with 7's, in a base 9, the same thing happens with 8's

    good stuff

Oh yeah, I agree with you there.

Kids are taught times tables in a robotic kind of way... They just memorize it and don't really understand it.

I was fortunate enough to have 3 extremely good maths teachers in my 8 years of schooling. :)

You can say math.. Stfu.
