free bus rides make me happy.

people when they hug me without my having to live with them all the time make me happy. although my wife who i did live with all the time for 13 mostly lucky years made me happier then i usually gave her credit for. (even though i do wish i could have been working those years too)

knowing that there are places economic concerns won't ever be able to screw up, at least as long as no one mentions them too often or too loud in that context, makes me happy.

knowing that reality is able to be completely indifferent to human attempts to destroy its diversity makes me happy. and that such human attempts generally end in disaster and failure and when they do succeed, it is seldom enough for nature and reality to have cunningly created even more diversity in the mean time.
