Mr h, may I ask, it made reference to the killing of apponents and showed a clip of a bunch of people laid out in presumably Vietnam. It then tied that with people protesting in America. It seemed like they were saying it occured there too...is that true?

our government would never murder dissenters.. all these people over the years who wound up dead were just mentally imbalanced individuals who took their own lives..

I'm not sure why everyone is such an asshole to odon in these threads. There are some people who come into these discussions to troll and flame people, but he usually seems to me to at least be respectful and to attempt genuine discussion. Why all the hate?

 

Yes, it's true. There are such things as targeted individuals in the US (and around the world) who are harassed on a regular basis with directed-energy weapons. I have known and talked to such people myself.

So a hospital, eh? What do you do there?

 

I'm a pharmacy technician. I mix IV's, prepare prescriptions, talk to the nurses, log data into the computer, etc.

I do it to make a living, not because I love big pharma.

It must be hell seeing people come in to get their drug cocktails. Personally, I find hospitals to be some of the most depressing places around.

Do you need medical training for a job like that?

 

Well, I am also a per diem radiologic technician. It used to be my primary job, but I got sick of it and opted to take a small pay cut to be a pharmacy tech instead, which requires no real interaction with the patients and is less stressful. That's the only reason I took the pharm tech position. There was an opening, so I went for it. I really don't like doing what I do, but it will have to suffice until I can find something better. I say good luck to myself in this economy. Really "health care" (I cringe at those words) is the only area that has some stablity.

Yeah, both jobs require training. I had to go to college for the rad tech position. The pharm tech was on-the-job.

 

I didn't know you were in such a specialized line of work. I remember you saying you preferred to keep a low-level job and not contribute any more than necessary to the system; I guess I assumed that meant you worked some kind of unskilled job. Not that it matters

 

I don't make a ton of money doing what I do. $18/hr is hardly a lot of money. It's enough to live modestly, as I do.

It's either that or working retail or flipping burgers somewhere. Really, you're screwed no matter what in this system. There is no perfect job, at least none that I can envision.

I used to do warehouse work and all other sorts of odd jobs, but that shit takes its toll after a while, too.
