PEace, Vietnam War- A Civil war in S.E. Asia, taht the U.S. popped there head in without regards to the cost and excuses they gave. Americans (MANY) refused to think of it as a good cause. and protested the occupation and killing of villages and people of all ages and both sexes. children, women, not just men were victims of US executions of villages. Bombing of Saigon was not a accident but a warning from the US Government. The Vets went through ALOt and we owe them all gratitude and love, and caring we can give them. i know 3 Vietnam Vets. 2 are janitors in my School. one Howard agreed with the war and doesnt like me at all. the other i dont know his name, his voice box was torn off because of a bullet. he uses a electronical voice box, he is nice to me and i respect him highly for his and Howards Sacrifice. the other Vet and my favorate WE1!!! i have known him longer then any other Vietnam Vet and i respect him for many reasons and i respect him more then just about anyone else i know. and WE i will send you updated pictures of my car for you thank you. and WE ALL owe you at least a true and from the heart THANK YOU. Bob Dylan - Blowing In The Wind Lyrics How many roads must a man walk down, before you call him a man? How many seas must a white dove fly, before she sleeps in the sand? And how many times must a cannon ball fly, before they're forever banned? The answer my friend is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind. How many years can a mountain exist, before it is washed to the sea? How many years can some people exist, before they're allowed to be free? And how many times can a man turn his head, and pretend that he just doesn't see? The answer my friend is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind. How many times must a man look up,before he sees the sky? And how many ears must one man have, before he can hear people cry ? And how many deaths will it take till we know, that too many people have died? The answer my friend is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind. The answer my friend is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind. have a groovy hip & free day. WE. laterthe tired flower child
I'm grateful you all are alive and I hope you all have a very great Veteran's Day. And all of what you just said, if you replace the city names with current ones and what not, can be directly applied to this war. It's scary
Thank you Joshua. I recieved two e-mails from friends I served with earlier today that really made my day.
Peace WE, i am verry pleased to hear your fellow vets gave you a wring man! have a GREAT weekend! later the thinking flower child
Well, there is a small difference. That was a drafted army while the army of today is all volunteer. Ironic, isn't it (and not in a good way, mind you), that the Vietnam vets were reviled while it would be unpatriotic today to not support the troops? And by the way thanks to the WWII vets, too. My Dad was one.
UPR: Thanks for thinking of us Vietnam (era) vets. But remember, there's still a lotta WWII, Korean, Gulf, etc. vets around too. Sure, the Vietnam vets are currently the ones most disenfranchised with the war (Police Action) they’re associated with, but there are a lot of vets rethinking the wisdom of killing as a means to an end. My best friend Rod (84 yrs old) fell in his house last night while trying to take a digital photo of a flower arrangement set on his piano. He fractured his femur. He’s a WWII vet and was stationed in Vietnam, Burma, Laos, Cambodia, India, Pakistan, etc. He was in the OSS. He’s tough as nails. One of his nurses (a guy) is a Gulf War I vet. He (the nurse dude ….and Rod) hates what is happening in Iraq. There’s a lot of wound licking (because of the elections) going on right now, but yours truly thinks we’ll be “taking it to teh streets” shortly. peas
Peace imhip, i got my car so soon (hopefully) i could go to the antiwar movement! think of how much more public attention we will get if people in attractive cars, vans, and limos came?! well sort of. what i mean is it would jsut help the casue and me! more if i got my dream car now she needs alot of work but i am willing to do it! i agree. my dads dad is a Korea War Vet and i thank him for what he did but they most remember that the president can say just about anything as long as he can convice people governemnt administrations and organisations helped to gather the facts he can convince the majority of americans (Iraq!!) that is why i think people SHOULD doubt and challenge the government and its empolyees. later teh tried flwoer child
I really do think that the draft will be reinstated in the very near future.....but fuck "patriotness", I am going to refuse to sign up for the SSS when my time comes. If the army is voluntary, why do we need to sign up for that?
