My family party - like you guys care

So all of my cards either called me a smart ass or mentioned penises. Like all family dinners we ripped each other a new one and laughed until we cried. I was told twice that I'm going to hell. Good times, good times. I was threatened with e-harmony and my grandmother finding me a man. *shudder* All in all it was fun, full of laughter, and sarcasm that would make the weak cry. I left early and bought probably a crap book...but I couldn't help myself. How can one pass up: I'm sure it will be horrible but it made me snicker.


Oh and if ya'll forget my birthday I'll hunt ya'll down.


What is it like when you spend time with your family?

 

A friend of mine read that book, but she has a bad taste in books... so I dunno. She said it was lulzy.

Spending time with my family usually involved eating out somewhere fancy and talking about politics or my future.

 

time with family is spend usually at a cook out with my cooking teh food and yea...thats about it

 

pretty crazy, lots of talk and jokes about sex. my dad always brings up "testicles" at every family event. usually they all get pissed off their tits and the conversation goes downhill from there. i don't particularly like hearing my 60 yr old aunties talk about the sex they've been getting but it can be amusing. my cousins are all cool too, some a little fucked up, but still cool. all in all i like my family but we do get a bit out of hand.

 

It's a riot if it's time with my dad and brother. Not so much when we start extending it to other members of the family. My uncle and grandma usually piss each other off and my cousin's pretentious wife is normally a passive aggressive bitch and my aunt has resorted to bringing out the wine in such situations, but she, my cousin's wife, and I are the only ones who partake. Haha.

 

When it comes to family (at least mine), this saying always comes to mind: "You can choose your friends, but you can't choose your family."

 

Second cousin ian will recite some crappy cartoon monologue, Cousin jamy will tell his mom her boobs are ringing, cousin jay will be spaced out, cousin lex will arrive late, and his kids will tell us how they wish they'd gotten a guy who tried to kill a family court judge shooting lessons, and so it goes.

 

I am related to some of my favorite people in the world. My mom is pretty much by best friend, as is my older sister.. (although I can only take her in doses for the most part)... then all of my cousins/aunts/uncles are hilarious and a bunch of partiers. Family time usually starts around 1pm... tons of food, music, drinking.. then by evening everyones drunk and sometimes it turns ugly but usually not.

I miss my family

 

TH--sounds like you have a family that is mucho fun.My boys and my daughter are hilarious and I try.My oldest son somehow can do routines from just about any movie and always comes up with some routine at appropriate times.The other day ,on the roof working ,he suddenly stood up and went thru the whole Joanne Greenburg dating scene from Better off dead when Cuzak was on her porch.Cracked us and our customers up too.The only time we watch our mouths is when the grand kids are near by and then sometimes not.

 

When I spend time with my family.. we laugh, we yell, we're passionate, we love each other so much.. and can hate each other too! but that doesn't last longer than a couple days we are very close, almost like.. my mom, my dad, and both my sisters and my best friends.. the best I've ever had! We're all soulmates.

When we wanna party we usually go out to a nice restaurant and have a great dinner.. we drink.. then we go dancing..

Or we could have a party at home with nice food, drinks and a good movie

or.. well we're very creative.. we always find something new to do..

there's not really a set plan for every get-together!

 

I like my parents, but the rest of the family I couldn't care less to be around.

 

Oh well it's my adoptive family that I was posting about. My parents were the only blood relatives there. My real family is out of state.

 

Oh, I didn't know you were adopted.

 

Well the family set up is weird so I will explain it.

My gramps was my mom's foster father. He divorced and remarried so my aunts consist of his biological daughter and his wife's daughter. We all call each other family. I'm even in the will.

There's a lot of scrabble, unless we meet for brunch and then there's a lot of drinking. Scrabble has ended with the board beign thrown before. We are all bat shit crazy and extremley competitive. Just not a good combo.

With my mom, it's gotten so bad that I now have to stay with my in-laws, friends or in a hotel. She doesn't get along with my husband or one of my dogs. The rest of my family loves my husband though and think he's the best husband in the world. My mom doesn;t like my husband because he won;t take her sight in fights and kiss her ass at my expense, like every other boyfriend/fiance did.

 

We're celebrating it tommorow and are going to either Pismo Beach or Yosemite, depending on the weather...because i hate Monday birthdays too. My last Monday birthday, I got hurt diving and the ambulance had to come.
