The way you want to go about it, and read the following if you haven't...

*Edit, didn't see you only wanted to dread a couple, I would think twist & rip, or backomb, would be the easiest option, but why not wait till you've finished school then do the job properly?

I just started growing one dread by backcombing a little and washing every day.

I think you should find a new school and dread your whole head.

    it's against the dress code

we can't have any "distractions" like that.
    and its a private school.

So what if you had chemo and your hair fell out? Would being bald be a "distraction?"

Yea, private schools are lame like that, and growing locks does not equal loosing your hair from chemo. It's a choice that we make for personal reasons, not to physically save our lives (spiritually... perhaps you would have an argument there). Anyways...
x3emmuh: If you want some dreads, then neglect can be the way to go... this is how my sister and I both started our locks. Depending on the length of your hair if you run your fingers through it in the front, or even comb it out, the back should lock up and be kinda camouflaged by the rest of your non-knotted hair. The back of my head knotted up right quick on its own, but I had to give the front a little encouragement and remember to keep my fingers out of it before the top/front of my head started to lock. Good luck yo!

Wow, private schools must suck. My school lets me have dreads, and really has no problem with it. You can't dye you're hair an 'unnatural' color though, which seems pretty fucking retarded. I'd personally wait to be outta school or transfer to a different one before I started.
