I've had dreads about a month now and I love them. But they are dreading together at the roots and very hard to separate. I wanted to know if I should just tear them apart (cut them or tie them or what not) Wondering if I should tie them at the roots with hemp or string and an easier way to seperate them at the roots. THANKS

I hadn't ripped in three months, so I had to cut some of them apart at the roots. Others I just left, and some I was able to rip....

*Edit* The two or three that I cut were all neglect, and it was turning into one giant dread taking up the entire back of my head.:ack2:

Yeah I'd just kinda feel them like in the morning to see if any are forming together, and I rip apart the few hairs that are forming together.

The teeny-tiny ones in the back on the bottom row are doing it for me, and I have to do it very often throughout the day. Hurts 'cause my scalps's tender down at the bottom lol

I tend to wait ti'll ive got an inch or so of congo (read:forget to rip) then have a good tear, you can never get them right down to the roots in my experience, even when pulling that at 180 degrees. Don't worry about it' you'd have to leave them for months before you got to a point it would be difficult to separate them.

don't cut, rip them up. it might hurt a bit but it's better than cutting. I get mine down to the root pretty easy.

rip them about once a week. don't be a puss. and don't let them congo to about an inch or so, because like pypes said, you'll never get down tot he root if you wait that long.
