what movie is it?

 

Pi! Directed (and possibly written, I don't remember) by the same mang who directed Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain (I know he wrote that one too!) and The Wrestler.

It's about this math genius mang who is trying to find a way to predict the stock market and stumbles upon some ancient Jewish mystical mathematics or something. It's a mind fuck and has one of my favorite endings of any movie.

 

Darron Aronofsky is the guy. The movie is freaking brilliant.

I think The Fountain is my favorite. Apparently a lot of people aren't as fond of it and I guess I can sort of see where they're coming from. It does come across as slightly high minded (and I don't mean stoned ) in its themes but that's what I love about it. It's such a powerful, moving story. The amazing imagery is just icing on the cake. Oh and who can forget one of the best soundtracks ever? I listen to it like a stand alone album haha

You should watch The Wrestler. It was good...not as good as his other films though, IMO. But Mickey Rourke definitely beat the shit out of that role.
