a friend of mine came across a really old bottle of methylphenid (generic ritalin) the other day; she said it was from december of 2001. she asked me if i thought it would be safe to take, and i couldn't give her an answer. i imagine something like that would lose potency over time, but does it run the risk of being harmful or dangerous being expired that long? i figured i would come here and inquire...

i took expired dexamphetamine that was about 4 years past its expiry date & it was perfectly fine, i guess 8 years may be a little different. I honestly cant say if it would be safe to take them or not!

i don't see how anything in the meds could have magically turned toxic...if anything it just won't be as potent.

if you don't reply, we all know that 8 year old ritalin DOES INFACT KILL A PERSON.
