I think I have a brain tumor. I have bad anxiety so usually whenever I have physical symptoms, I just say its my anxiety. But recently, I've been having symptoms that are pretty extreme. On my left side of my body, this morning when I was eating my arm would shake uncontrolably when it was in a certain position. Also, that arm loses sensation and I'm unable to hold a grip with my hand sometime. On the same side of my body, my left eyes has been blurry and hard to focus. Also, even though I've had perfect vision for my whole life and on both sides of my family, no one has glasses until they are elderly, I just failed an eye exam but only in that eye. I don't know if I'm over reacting but these symptoms are starting to scare me. I need to find a new doctor though because the one I currently have just dismisses everything for "anxiety", even when I had a kidney infection, at first she thought it was just 'anxiety". Am I over reacting or should I get myself looked at ?
I would go see a doctor, as you said it could be anxiety. But it could be a number of other things. Not to scare you or anything but that does match some of the symptoms of a mild stroke.
my mom had those symptoms a few months before her stroke... please go see another doctor, and tell them exactly what you feel. good luck.
Yep. See your doctor and I personally would demand a CT scan. I was diagnosed with a brain tumour when I was 8 and it's all fixed now. You don't want to dismiss it. CT scans usually pick them up but MRI scans are much more thorough.
Thanks for the responses. I think im going to see a new doc, or maybe even talk to the eye doctor about it when I go get my new glasses. My grandmother had a brain tumor and was diagnosed by her eye doctor. I just hate seeming like a hypochondriac but I am quite nervous about these symptoms. Thank you all again for the advice and support
I do that all the time. I cant remember how many times i thought i was gonna die and it was just anxiety. Just about every little pain and discomfort makes me think i have some kind of disease or physical problem. But just to be safe i would get it checked out
I do not think you are overreacting at all about the symptoms. We know how our bodies act on a day to day basis and when something is out of sync..you know it best. Seeing a professional is key. Another thing is..DO NOT READ ANYTHING ON THE INTERNET about your symptoms, LoL! Most doctors will tell you this..it will just scare you, and do you no good. I would start to take Vitamin E and Vitamin C daily, along with a few other supplements called Glutathione, Melatonin, and Methionine. If you would like to know more about these supplements, how much to take, etc..please feel free to email me at poppie@prettie.net
I would definitely go see a doctor.. but like others have said you may be slightly overreacting because of your anxiety as well.. but still go see a doc to make sure everything is A OK
Did you ever get to see a Doctor about your symptoms? Hope you are ok. Lots of things can cause neurological symptoms so it's pointless to worry until you know what it is. The other posters are right though, you should insist on a CT scan at least.
Are you sure you don't just go around reading things on the internet and convince yourself "No shit, THAT'S ME!"? I'm not poking fun in the slightest, I just know how an anxious person's mind works. Kind of like when you hear the symptoms of something tragic that happened to a family member and you kind of suspect the same might happen to you.
What you are experiencing is quite similar to a stroke. It's not a brain tumor. Brain tumor has a symptoms of too painful headache that you almost bang your head to any hard surface just to lessen the pain. To be sure, seek a medical doctor since they are the perfect person who can diagnose and cure if there's a disease
