Wrap your noggin around this one:

While I was going out to feast on some delicious greasy, artery-clogging sludge, I went to the drive-through and noticed there was BRAILLE on the menu and speakerbox!!

You'd think, "oh, Tom, you silly little man. They put braille on there so that the blind people could read the drive-through menus!"

If that's so, THEN HOW CAN THE BLIND PERSON BE DRIVING?!?!?!?!?!

well probably because they don't have the components custom made. so the manufacturer puts braile on all of them...far easier than making new platens for pretty much the same components

yeaps, the components, for the Intercoms are made with the braille as you said its easier, like elevator buttons, signs ect..

blind people can use ATMs, they had audio jacks on some ATMS but there isnt to many of them..
