What Language do you think is the best one to learn, so as to get the most understanding out of the Bible?
I argue the two languages because the two volumes we shall say are written in entirely different languages. If you just learn Greek, you limit yourself to the Septuagint (although this is what was used by the authors of Holy Scripture for the New Testament by and large). If you just learn Hebrew, well it is pretty obvious the consequences. If you do not accept this, I will say don't study the Bible and just listen to your priest (I enjoy being a caricature occasionally).
But what about Aramaic? Do we discard Ezra 4:8 to 6:18 and 7:12-26; Jeremiah 10:11; and Daniel 2:4b to 7:28?
Actually, you make a good point, seeing as Spanish is quickly becoming the new International language. And knowing a little Spanish, it even helps me to understand some scriptures better when I read them in Spanish but no, that's not the one I had in mind.
i don't know.but going back about 40 years i noticed a version of the bible in englishcalled good news for the modern man (and woman i'm sure it meant.) was this the good news you meant in the first line of your post?
Very interesting, I'm familiar with the Good News Bible but I was thinking of a language other than English.
Maybe I should offer a Prize for the first one to get it right, you know something like 5,000 dollars worth of worthless 5th and 6th prizes. As a hint, I will say the answer is Scriptural.
Bingo, good guess arty: I was wandering if any one would get it, I was a little bit vague. Now for bonus points, What is the "language of the truth"?
I'll give you second place for this one, but only because I agree with this and not because it's necessarily Scriptural.
Bonus points huh? Well, I can give it a try The "Language of Truth" would be a language that only has one meaning.. I dont think that is right, but it would be cool to see if I can answer it in one sentence
Actually a pretty good answer. Have you been peeking at the answers again? Here's some Scriptures that deal with it: (Zephaniah 3:9) 9 For then I shall give to peoples the change to a pure language,. . . (Ephesians 4:25) Wherefore, now that YOU have put away falsehood, speak truth each one of YOU with his neighbor, because we are members belonging to one another. (1 Corinthians 1:10) 10 Now I exhort YOU, brothers, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that YOU should all speak in agreement, and that there should not be divisions among YOU, but that YOU may be fitly united in the same mind and in the same line of thought.
