So a couple days ago my laptop started making a crackling noise, kind of like the noise an older computer would make when its processing. It sounds like its coming from the processor, or at least from the processor fan. In fact if i put my finger on that area it seems like I can feel something pulsating in conjunction of the crackling noise.

Anyone know what this could be?

Processors dont make a noise. (a pop/bang for it blowing up excluded)

'Crackle' suggests an electrical issue ( might be the fan wire/motor ). Could just be a fan bearing (Which does sound a bit more like an old HD during read/write functions).

Either way you should take it to comp repair/sales place and get it looked at.

Dont even think of opening the case with the battery still inplace. please.
