can you create life and give it its tragic ending? ...the life grenade disolves the candle lit fog ...explodes and leaps into my soul true power commands true power demands the desperate man gives in lies deception is whats soon to be... run with me run with me this house is not my home... i live in these streets that are free... and in them ill never die but cry, cry, cry i ran my hand up freedoms thigh... to little surprise the image spat in my face.. barbs, chains, and stamped... PROPERTY OF UNCLE SAM now i cannot hide what my eye lids decieve mother earth was raped, bruised, and battered... seven seas later shes almost free
That was amazing, I'm glad you told me to check it out. It has a great message and the way you wrote it was perfect
i really like this. the part about uncle sam reminded me of across the universe (sorry, im a beatles fanatic)! i love the last lines too. "mother earth was raped, bruised, and battered... seven seas later shes almost free " thats so powerful!
thank you. i appreciate the support. that last two lines actually started the whole poem...for me anyway. this show was on tv about kidnapped girls, and this one came up about this girl in Ukraine. i guess she was kidnapped by her father and kept away while the mother had no idea it was her husband who took her daughter. anyway....the girl was missing for years, and when she was set free...she had already given birth to seven children. it was painful but that's what seems to inspire me.
