So I can't decide if i wanna take my acoustic or electric guitar on the road with me. Anybody have experience taking an electric with them? I like my electric more and I have a little mini amp that takes 9 volt batteries. The thing is tho , if I take my acoustic I have no case and will have to hold it in my hand. If I take the electric I have a case, but I have to keep buying 9 volt batteries. Anybody have any suggestions on which one I should take?
I personally wouldn't risk no-casing it, especially if it was an expensive guitar. How does it measure up to the amount of nine volts you'll be buying for the electric? That's the real question.
I get 9 hours of playing time off one battery. So I'd be buying a lot of batteries because ill be on the road for a long time. The acoustic is decently expensive but is already banged up a little bit. I don't care about looks if it gets banged up as long as it plays but I don't want it to break on the road because I have no case then I have no guitar on the road : / It sucks because I really can't decide.
I dont know what you mean by on the road, do you have a car? get a 12dc to 120ac car adapter http://www.unitedsale.net/pics/adapter/Universal-Car-Adapter-120V-AC-100W.jpg 100watts. can run a 75W amp with some gear no problem...
you should get a ukelelee... thats what my friend always does =] its different...but much smaller...and much more suited for travel plus. everybody loves a guy with a ukelele
yea, buy a case for your acoustic. The electric will be more work because you need batteries, a jack cord, and it's not as easy to just take it out and put it away. It's more of a pain in the ass.
...and true old style acoustic folk guitars have no electronics that can be destroyed by sea salt. i forgot to tell that you better buy one with the tuners' mechanics enclosed, not one with gear teeth in sight: open mechanics collect dust, sand can get into the gears, and do not lubricate them cause oil will collect dirt and make the keys slip. invest some money to replace the shoulder strap pins on the guitar with metal safety lockable ones that will prevent your shoulder strap to slip from the knob and fall, they cost a few bucks but avoid bad accidents. for instance, a friend of mine because of those damned button knobs dropped his electric guitar on the body of his acoustic, and the knob pierced the guitar. it took a skilled craftsman to fix it, and much more money than buying safety knobs.
accustic of course if your going on the road No batteries or cords just beautiful music It sounds better anyway Plus you can play for fundige on the road
lol....sorry my head wasnt right....I ment play for $$$ when your out on hte road. It helps! I can play maybe 2 songs
Acoustic is the most convenient. I take mine everywhere I travel, and it's perfect for the road. I even brought it to the Rainbow Gathering two months ago where there was heavy rain, mud, and lightening, and it still managed to pull through fine. Just bring a case!
