Romance at work

Anyone ever date someone from work? If so, how'd that work out for you??

 

Yeah I dated someone from work a couple years ago, got high and made out on breaks in the car, went out to the movies, fucked a couple times, that was it. Another time this chick from work came over new years eve and had a few drinks, fucked, and stayed for a week. So in my experience they haven't turned out that bad.

Yes, and I married him.

But he switched jobs when we became an actual couple, since technically he was my boss at the time.

Nobody ever guessed that we had such a thing for one another when we were working together. Everybody was shocked when it came out. We were private, very professional at work. I remember when a few years later we met up with some ex-coworkers and they were totally floored that we were married and expecting our first son.

 

Hi Mom,

what if you hadn't land him at that time? Often professionality goes south then and things get out of control. This might be a bad situation for all involved persons and for the coworkers, too. Being at the 'lower' end of a hierarchical relationship, like boss/staff, doubles the possible pain I guess. So for me the conclusion is to never f* the company.

That "what-if" is irrelevant in HCM's case since things obviously worked out between them. Although I do agree that it is risky to be romantically involved with the boss. I've never done it myself, but my sister has been dating her subordinate for about a year now. Although that "what-if" does occasionally cross my mind, they seem to be doing well so far - both professionally and romantically.

 

I used to work at a half assed chain restaurant that let us do whatever the hell we wanted. i dated the cook that worked when i was serving. we had the same days on, and the same days off. the manager never minded what was going on in the store, for instance one of the servers came in on ecstasy and the manager could give a rats ass. anyways i'm obviously not dating that guy anymore, but because of the work environment, it was favorable for relationships in the workplace. (not that is was the healthiest of places to work at though)

 

yes, i did, and it didn't work out for me, at all. it was horrible.

 

Oh yeah I almost forgot, my first real job, I dated my bosses daughter, we ended up goin out for like 4 years all through high school off and on

 

Security guy with tapes would not agree with you that much.

 

Thought about it, and glad that I didn't do it.
