I'm wondering what Colleges in Canada have the most conscious student population...that is relative to environmental ethics, politics and progressive new ideas?? Any comments or feelings?
you could try looking at: concordia in montreal the one near peterborough (trent?) u-vic i havent attended any of those schools, but i've know people who have, and they fit the description you were looking for.
I have no idea..I wanna g ot Vangaurd in Edmonton (its a christian college) but they dont have res, so I need a roomie first!
I go to carleton in ottawa and I love it here. so much to do in the nation's capital. tons of programs here too.
yeah i go to carleton in ottawa also and its ok as far as activist-types are concerned. OPIRG-carleton is one of canada's most active PIRGs. we did a march on the administration (i wont get into why) and we were able to mobilize over 100 people in a very short amount of time i dont know about any others, but i know ppl at concordia can be very passionate about their views
someone suggested Trent. DO NOT ATTEND TRENT. it is the most pretend hippy school that has ever existed. You are promised "vive la" and get "mourir de rire". The whole place is fake.
You should check out St Thomas University in Fredericton, New Brunswick.....thats where i went, it was great, i still have a year to do and i can't wait to go back!
As I am not in the program, Im probly not the best source of information on this, but my school(UofToronto at Scarborough) has an International Development Studies program. I beleive after a couple years you go on a term abroad where you go to a developing country and help them......develop? I couldnt really tell ya about any other schools, as those were not things I considered when i chose a school.
Don't go to UBC at any rate... I go there now and its so ridiculously corporate I hate it. I'm going to UVic next year - i've spent some time there and its pretty fun. Everything else in the west won't be what you're looking for.
