I'm a displaced deadhead among violent rednecks and straights where I am right now. Fortunately, I was just accepted into Purchase College!:) I've heard this college was really cool and artsy. What do you know about the college? What should I know? I haven't visited yet, so I don't even know much of what it looks like. Can you guys possibly fill me in at all?

All I know is I'm glad to be going and leaving my current college!

Hey, I go to purchase. I finished my freshman year about a month ago. I personally really like it. But it is what you make it. I got really homesick and consequently really depressed for the first semester, so I didn't have as much fun as I could have. And it kinda put a damper on my time there. As far as the college goes, I really like the way the academics work, it's pretty different from most colleges, the classes are mostly worth 4 credits instead of the normal 3, so it allows you to spend more time on each class, which I think is really important. The people are definitely not like the rednecks from your town. I'd say about 95% of the population are all liberals and it has a very "hip " feel. The campus has been flooded with hipsters lately, which I can't say I'm too happy about. But, I suppose it's better than rednecks. It's not the typical college experience. I mean, technically, they've got all the things that other colleges do, but purchase is an experience, and has a very "alternative" feel to the entire campus/classes and people. Personally, I regret the way that a lot of my freshman year went, but it wasn't the fault of the college, and I wouldn't change my decision to go to purchase at all, overall it's a great school.

But, what's your major? and where are you from? I might be able to tell you more! I hope this helped!

I'm majoring in Psychology, even though creative writing is my main jive. I plan on still pursuing it while at the college, seeing as it would definitely provide enough outlets to foster it. I heard it's actually a very good program and very hands-on. What do you know about it? What's your major?

    i might go there too
i always wanted to go to college in new york, now that i live there it will be a lot cheaper
    im trying to get scholarships
i was going to go to community college for two years

but do you think it'd be better to just go straight to a college like this?
    i mean im prettyy smart
the only possible problem would be paying for the college
i figure since community is cheap i should just start there
but i dont really know anything about how that stuff works
i think ill get sick of school
well i want to be a biologist asap
anyone have any advice as to if i should go to community college first?
ill probably be around 21 after 2 years in community
depending on how i've planned things
    geeze
that seems like a lot of my life especially if the world is going to end in 2012
