i`ve kinda thot of that too. & going SE is a kinda good idea as it tends to be a bit warmer. roadogging can be the best & worst of times tho.
The cooler months are coming up, you're gonna want a good sweater unless you're in South Florida. I can't help with your quest, but I can give advice if you want. I've lived in the SE all my life and have driven up and down the East Coast many times.
some hippies and I are going to start traveling in about 2 weeks. A bit after Schwagstock 42. We're going anywhere and everywhere really and stopping at festivals along the way. DEKALB is a two hour drive from me! i'm on the southside chicago! me and a few others are leaving NEXT summer, not now, for a trip to go everywhere. gatherings, etc.
