I walked into the grocery store this evening and they had christmas decorations and everything up already. hell its still 2 weeks till thanxgiving!! and to top it all off, they were playing that gay xmas music. its already driving me nuts. I love the christmas season and all, but I dont know if I can go through almost 2 months of it. Im still trying to get prepared for thanxgiving.
Hey MC, I totally know what you mean. I was at the card store the other day looking for an anniversary card for my folks, and slightly hidden *behind* the already uber-early Christmas stuff? VALENTINE'S DAY... I was sooooo tempted to vomit on their fuzzy heart cards, but then I remembered that I'm vomit-phobic...
i hate that so much...when i went to the grocery store today, there was a waving santa singing music...uggg...i just wanted to buy my turkey and get the hell out...why does everyone rush it...i like it in all...but when it is like a week away
What rock have you all been living under? The Christmas season has always started on the first of November.
I've already seen Easter eggs around... hehe nah not really but you wouldn't be surprised would you? I think November 1st is just a tad early... December 1st sounds a little more realistic... it just shows, I guess, that Christmas is turning more from a holy day to an excuse for a shopping spree... Peace, Holly
its like they take down halloween decorations and they think, okay time for xmas decorations and music!! its like thanxgiving isnt getting any props. its being ignored, oh well, I guess that is somewhat good for the turkeys cause.
where I used to work, we always put up christmas decorations realllly early. Like, there were christmas carols being played non-stop from October 17th (I kid you not, I remember this date, it shall live on in my memory in infamy) till christmas eve (we were shut christmas day). We put up christmas decorations so early that when halloween came around, it was shoved to some random backwards part of the store... it was sad.
but dont you LIKE christmas? when it's all grey outside, i like all the cheesey flashiness of the decorations everywhere. the novelty wears off fast, but it still brightens things up a bit.
except that in New Zealand, its summer... so you don't get that whole "fairy lights shining through the darkness off the fir trees and the snow" thing... its just hot.
Canada has already had Thanksgiving, and after Halloween comes Christmas. Just like after Christmas come Valentine's Day.
