I kind enjoy seeing how much heat I can tolerate by walking on sunlit black asphalt. I live in Pennsylvania, where it doesn't get too, too hot (unlike many other states) but i"ve found a few patches on a good day around noon or so. Any takers? We'd have to figure out a way to calculate ground temps.
Where is that (city)? Just curious. Having tried walking barefoot in Phoenix when it was ~115 deg F and frying my feet, I'll concede victory to you Boogabaah. I certainly wouldn't want to meet you in nuspieds' "hot asphalt walking contest."
I'm not that great at hotfooting yet. I haven't had a chance to practice lately, either, especially since most of this season has been unseasonably cool in Kansas. It's now too cool for hotfooting here, and I doubt it'll get hot enough until next season.
i live in the california valley.. right now in vacaville.. it was 107f saturday.. thats not a problem for me.
Up to 110F...? Whew, I must say, I'm glad to live in a more moderate climate zone... the hottest day we had was around 97F - and since I work in an office without a/c, hot pavement wasn't my first worry... I (as well as colleagues) tried not to be swept away in waves of our bodies' own salt water. I guess I could stand a short and brisk walk over the hot pavement you mentioned... after a few years of barefooting (twentysomething with almost ten of them 24/7), my paws should be used to it.
