Not really. They're just idiots who get pissed when you talk shit about shitty (fake?) hip hop. Oh yeah, and they like to feign solidarity with each other for being ICP fans, even though none of them know what the word "solidarity" means (and they can't even agree on the reason they should have it).
oh absolutely...especially jazz and classical musicians who probably think you are disrespecting them when you are standing in the audience TALKING to your neighbor about something stupid...its the same thing as talking in class..it pissed your teacher off, im sure it pisses your favorite band off! Please respect the band and your neighbors and DONT CHAT during concerts...dancing is quite alright though I have seen some shows where it can get pretty intense...but i think thats a good thing, and most bands would feed off audience participation and movement....but not chatty crowds, that just shows you are not interested in what is happening onstage!
According to last.fm, I only have 43 active fans who listen to me on a regular basis (well, who have last.fm ayway but it's probably pretty accurate). I'll let you know when they get annoying
So are we talking about your fans, or just fans in general? As in the purpose of this thread that is.
Most people are happy to meet their fans/ sign somthing/ take a pic if you respect them. You have to remember the band is a person too, there is a right time and a wrong time to bother them. As an example my fav,. group (Infected Mushroom) had a fan find the home phone number of his parents and call it. They don't live in that country anymore yet along with their parents, that would be an example of an annoying fan. But if you come up to them at a show, they are more then willing to chat for second or take a pic.
The technical term for what your trying to describe is not "fan" but "fanboy." It is synonymous within the comic convention sub culture, but can be used to describe anyone who has an unhealthy, unshakable fixation on anything in popular culture. And yes, they are very annoying, I should know, we can smell our own.
