im really likin the looks of the low-top shoes and think these will be my next pair of shoes to own. but there is also the downside that Converse is manufactured by Nike... what are ur thoughts on the shoes and if u own/ed a pair did u like them back in the 70s haha. i know they make fake look-a-likes but there still made outside the usa, in Indonesia.
I live in my Chucks, and have long before nike had anything to do with it. Frankly Im glad that nike was nice enough to make sure I could still find my shoes instead of having to shell out huge $$ for some shitty sneaks. Its alot better than never seeing another pair of Converse Allstar Chucks!
Chucks look great for the most part, so many people custom design them and such. I personally perfer my pair of Jack Purcell Converse, cause it's actually warm for the Canadian winter's here. And they're easy slip on and leather! I do love the double layered Converse though. Pretty much the pair I have.
I don't know where you live, but you can always pick them at second-hand. I LOVE my converse, but I bought my last pair before Nike took over. They are so beat up, but I won't support Nike. I was recently able to pick up a used pair in NYC at ST Marks place, though
so go for No Sweats, the version Ad Busters created, or some of the options. It sounds like buying ethical is your issue.
fuckkk it. chucks are theee best shoes, ive beeen wearing them since i was in fourth grade. the fake ones in my opinion dont look as good, and arent as comfortable. who cares about nike, justt get em mann
I braught a pair of Chucks about two years ago and to be honest I didn't find them that comfy. I think I may have braught a size too small, I ended up with holes and blisters(although I walk EVERYWHERE so they probably wore out quicker) If I ever decide to go for a new pair of chucks I might go for those brown leather vintage styles, something a bit more suited for the English weather
chucks are groovy, baby - a quintessential part of any hipster's wardrobe! Although, i don't dig the lowtop chucks - might as well buy a pair of cheap sneaks if you're gonna get lowtops
I adore Chucks. They aren't really the most durable shoes out there, but they make up for it by being perfectly fine to wear long after they get holes. Hell, a while ago they were manufacturing Chucks that were pre-worn and pre-ripped and whatnot, just so the kids could feel cool without the painstaking effort (ha) of actually WEARING the shoes. Also, I have incredibly high arches and find that flat shoes like Chucks are the only thing comfortable for me to wear.
yeah i have narrow feet so chucks just feel right ive had them forever now but dont wear them so often, theyre just so damn long to lace up plus, im lazy.
I've been rocking chucks for a while now, and they're the best casual shoe out there. You can practically pair them with anything. Look into the classic white ones as well.
