Miranda rights only kick in AFTER you are arrested. And they only have to read them to you BEFORE questioning (AFTER you are arrested). If they don't question you-then they don't have to read them. They just have to read them before questioning or anything you say is not usable in court. 1-They always throw lots of charges on you. Most are dropped or "packaged"-we'll drop this if... 2-Your friend has lawyers-are they representing you? Be careful here. 3-It's good you weren't caught around campus. Does your school know? If they do most school have legal aid. 4-Are you on federal financial aid? 5-It will probably go away-disorderly conduct? Community service? 6-You are the example for the other students-that's why they arrested you.
i know that about my rights, thats why i said it doesnt really matter. 1. know that, i know that all my shit is gonna be lumped together its just that i shouldnt have even been in jail 2. of course im getting my own lawyer 3. school doesnt know, but it doesnt matter if they do. MU is huge, and they deal with people getting arrested all the time. that is why under 35 grams is decriminalized and i SHOULDNT HAVE BEEN IN FUCKIN JAIL!! 4. financial aid yes - not gonna be goin anywhere though. ill still have it 5. unsupervised probation maybe supervised? doesnt matter, im not planning on smoking soon anyways 6. yes, im an example of unnecessary means and waste of police officer's time/payroll. columbia is notorious for having too many officers that have absolutely jackshit to do so they take innocent and nonviolent drug users to jail :\
yeah. my sister said that cops literally come into her place of work and ask her if everything is okay...seriously?!?!?! i think they are a little pissed that weed has been decriminalized too because they were acting like my little 2 gram stash was the bust of the century
and how sure are you of this? Minnesota is a decrim state yet i have known kids that have lost their financial aide due to petty drug charges
It doesn't matter to the federal government (financial aid) that a local municipality has decriminalized. The federal government does not recognize local marijuana decriminalization laws.
Again I don't think this will be a problem in the end-but realize one doesn't have to do with the other.
well...im just hoping by the grace of god i dont get fucked further than i need to be. it'd be some of the shittiest stuff ever if i find out im losing my aid... i just know that the exact reason why it states under 35 grams of weed is because that is the amount that is decriminalized...im going to a local circuit as well, not like a drug court or anything - further proof it is going under with the whole decriminalization
true shit...there were just way too many cops there than needed be and they were just making stupid ass remarks to me. i bit my tongue but i wanted to go off on the idiot K9 officer soooo badly
yeah yeah...i know that but it was decriminalized to lessen the shit that students get while at MU because it's not unknown that a lot of people smoke, and a lot of people smoke and function and live successful and normal lives also https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPOKZNLhOj8
Fuck yeah to the Dilla, every time I get a dilla link I smile I hope your aide is all good, I would appeal that shit to the highest level if it isn't though. Especially considering you got quadruple the supposed max fine of 250$ for possession of under 35 grams as well as the fact that you got arrested when it is supposed to be a non-arrestable offense now.
Damn, sorry to hear about that!! At least it will be taken off your record, and you don't have anything worse comin to ya
damn purp you ARE gangsta seriously, hope shit works out for you i got busted and didn't lose financial aid i dunno exactly how it works though
As to the miranda rights thing: TO ALL STONERS: THE POLICE DO NOT HAVE TO READ YOU YOUR MIRANDA RIGHTS UNLESS THEY PLAN TO INTERROGATE YOU Learn the law, stop watching law and order that is all
