This is a TERRIBLE idea. Why not remake “Help!” and “A Hard Day’s Night” as well?
While we’re at it, remake the White Album and Please Please Me with auto-tune and Akon singing the hooks.
This is untouchable stuff, it’s THE BEATLES people.. anyone who is involved in this is pure evil."

i agree with him all the way why ruin classics especially the beatles why would disney want to ruin the beatles classic movies if they want to why dont they just completely destroy all the people of the 60's era's cherished memories oh btw its in 3d so enjoy and be disappointed in the evil disney!!

Good god. This is something I simply can't support

If it was an interesting director MAYBE....but the guy who did Polar Express? No. Nope. Not allowed!

Only a moron would think to remake a Beatles film.

While we're at it, why don't we update the background in the Mona Lisa to something more "recent".

I don't think it would ruin the classics -- nothing could ruin those.

Is some sort of rally or petition in order? I think so.

It's not going to ruin the original, obviously, but kids who aren't familiar are going to think that this film is the original. Stuff like that irks me. Teenagers wearing Grateful Dead shoes because they were sold in a hip catalog and have no idea who the Grateful Dead are, kids who think that The Pink Panther is a funny Steve Martin movie... Grrr!

That's absolutely horrible. To remake a bad film is one thing, but to remake a film that's already perfect is just a stupid, useless idea. I hope it bombs.

Of course it's not only Disney that re-makes films.--However,they should not re-make any movies period.----They just make re-makes of films to capitalize on the name of the original movie(whatever movie that may be).--And suckers still go to the theatre to see them.--Has anyone really seen a re-make that even came close to being as good as the original? Not me.--It would be a much better idea to just re-release the originals on the big screen.--

Well said.---And again that really applies or should apply to all re-makes.--But hey,Hollywood just does not have many original ideas anymore. Not to mention the lack of talent in front and behind the cameras of contemporary movies. So they release movies with alot of special effects or other nonsense .Or they release a re-make.

I'm not necessarily huge on remakes, because there are far too many of them nowadays, but it should be pointed out that Yellow Submarine had almost no input from the Beatles when it was made, save that goofy business at the very end. Most of the songs had already been released on other albums, save a few throwaway tunes that the Beatles themselves weren't all that keen on. George Martin did the score, but the writing, the imagery and the animation were a bunch of filmmakers most people probably don't know the names of. And in case you couldn't figure it out, the voices were actors, not the real Beatles.

Remaking Citizen Kane is a bad idea is a bad idea, but considering the whole point of the original Yellow Submarine was to look and sound trippy (does anyone ever watch this film for the numerous plot twists and complex, character-driven narrative?), I think remaking the film using modern special effects and crisper sound could actually be an improvement.

We know this but The Beatles claim it and it's a fun film which doesn't need a makeover for all the reasons stated above.

    The Beatles 'claim it'? Really?

Before cinema was invented, people used to do different performances of plays, with different actors, different sets, etc., etc. Those were to make money as well, but they also kept the original material going, didn't they?

And as I said, it makes more sense to do a remake when the sole purpose of the original film is to look and sound trippy, as opposed to when it's supposed to be intellectually or emotionally engaging. If it turns out that it doesn't work, then it doesn't work, but I don't think that anyone can say that it's definitely going to be terrible... and I definitely don't think that anyone can say that it's as bad an idea as a remake of Psycho, or Get Smart, or Bewitched, or MASH or The Shaggy Dog or something like that.

yeah i agree with everybody thats opposed to this TERRIBLE idea its a classic and to turn it to 3d and change the amazing animation is just insanity all on its own and even if the beatles had very little to do with Yellow Submarine its still an animation classic and screw disney for even trying to mess with the beatles.
    I rest my Case.

    **Update..Sorta**
Paul McCartney is okay with the remake.

a re-make sounds awful! if anything, they should just take the original, and make IT 3D. Offer some psychedelics at the door, and give us those super cool 3D glasses. haha wouldn't that be cool.

but srsly. why would DISNEY remake it?? they would change the whole meaning to Yellow Submarine. =\
