So this Saturday, after a day at a local festival, I'm having some people over for a bonfire :D

My boyfriend (who is not a vegetarian) has been on about hes getting marshmallows for the fire, but since more then half of the people coming will be vegetarians, I've been trying to find a veg substitute. I know they make veg ones but I went out looking today and had no luck!

Just curious if anyone else on here has come up with a roasting solution?

I'm open to any sugary ideas even if it's not a marshmallow-esque idea:p

    thx

    LOL
    didn't see this.
There are a buncha veg marshmallow recipes online- but they are messy and require a lot of fancy ingredients :(, and I have never braved them.

I wonder if you could wrap marshmallow creme(which is usually veg but chockfull of corn syrup and other crap) around some chocolate and roast it a little?? hmmm
    I have never tried.
Yeah, see I am no help at all

It sucks. True marshmallows are vegie and made from the root of the marshmallow plant. Nowadays it is almost impossible to find ones with no gelatin in them.

Veg marshmallows are perfect. Easily as good as the other kind and much purer. The only stumbling block is the price. I found mine in a little vegan shop but I've seen an ad in VegNews magazine for these guys:

Of course, your shindig has passed. Sorry.
