Tonight my friend and I smoked a blunt with our two friends and one of their cousins. We had to go home ASAP because we were past our curfew. We walked home for about 5 minutes and we get a call from one of our friends. They said that our friend was freaking out and saying "I'm not in my body" or "I'm not me anymore" etc. I thought that was weird, as I thought something like that could only happen on LSD-Shrooms etc. It wasn't even that great of bud.

So has anyone had a similar experience or heard of someone having one?

Or she might have just been really high and overreacting...

I've had a really intense time-warp and out of body experience on weed. Only the once though. It was the first time I smoked some stronger weed.. I came in after a joint, and there's a whole 10 minute gap in my memory, then I was just like "Woaaaahhh, where am I?", and I kept getting flashbacks to 10 minutes ago. It felt like I was moving between the past and the present.

Weed can make you hallucinate and experience very very weird things, but it's pretty rare that it'll be anything intense.

An actual oobe is actually easy to get, and you don't even need drugs, or even a sensory deprivation tank, but it sounds like what your friend had was a panic attack. 99% of the time when people freak out on weed, or claim their weed must be laced, they just had a panic attack triggered by strong pot, or smoking allot of pot. Panic attacks are a natural response in your brain to high stress situations, although the level of stress required varies from person to person. Panic attacks cause you to have derealization and depersonalization (those two would make him feel "out of his body" or maybe feel as if he's viewing reality in 3rd person), fast hear and breathing rate, over awareness of things like noises, and an overall tenseness, which in the case of you being attacked would be beneficial. Anyway yeah, that may have been too much info, but I'm a psych major, and I'm stoned, so I just typed away. If you smoke pot, and then meditate its actually really easy to have out of body experiences, although in that case its a peaceful and spiritual experience, definitely not unpleasant.

Not too intense, but I have felt like I was floating a few feet above my body watching it. I have also felt a lag between when my body moves and when I actually move. Like I am lying on the floor and then sit up, but it doesn't actually feel I have sat up for 2 or 3 seconds. At the time, I did not percieve either situation to be bad, just different.
