I want a heart on my right hip. Just a simple red heart (maybe with black outline) like a Care Bear. Reason being I grew up watching them and I thought it would be a nice remembrance of my childhood. It's something I have been thinking about for years. Lately, I've been wondering if I just want it now because I've just always thought I would get it, but I also think it may be because I might actually have the means to get it soon and I'm just getting cold feet. Another one I've always wanted is the Thorn rune (big Halloween fan ), because I always understood it represented chaos, which has always been my life. Looking it up lately though, I don't know if it fits. I could get the chaos star, but I don't find it as aesthetically pleasing... I also think an olive branch around my navel would be pretty, as well as not be just the stereotypical peace sign. Do any of these scream "stupid youth mistake"? Just a test.
Get whatever you want. I would think about how much you really want a tattoo that seems to have personal meanings to yourself, but your questioning what people on the internet think about that..
Yeah, I expected as much. Just questioning the scene. They have more experience in these things than me. All of these symbols mean something to me. I'm just a little jittery on the whole thing and was looking to see if I mentioned these things someone would go DEAR GOD NO DON'T DO IT! and then possibly offer a reason why. Could be anything from "the scene is saturated with tattoos of that nature" to a suggestion on a stylized design. I'm not asking someone to tell me what to do or what to think. Just bouncing off ideas. EDIT: Example: I just realized that the olive branch around the navel would probably not be a good idea because I plan to have children someday, and stretching it out might ruin it. That's the kind of thing I mean.
These are pretty easy designs maybe even small. Sharpie it on yourself..... I got all my ink for personal reasons and meaning. I could care less what people think about it. Unless, it's a stupid comment from someone that knows nothing about tattoos or the industry as a whole. Pm...me if you have any questions
If you really love the idea then go for it! I grew up reading the Moomin books and watching the cartoons, and I still absolutely love them.. A couple of years ago, I got one of the characters tattooed on my ankle and it's totally my favourite tattoo.
pretty much any tattoo around your hips or stomach is gonna get messed up by pregnant belly. which is a reason why you should rethink the location of both those tat ideas. otherwise, those are pretty mundane concepts. maybe you could do somethign a bit more radical.
Well, that's disappointing, but at least now I know. I had no idea the hips were part of that "danger-zone" so to speak... I didn't really want them because they were innovative. Just because they meant something to me. I'm still going to go for the same themes, but now I guess I'll have to be more creative about it.
Why not get all three and a peace sign around your ankle and whatever else you might like to make a tattoo anklet, if that stretches out then it's the least of your problems. - Dale ---------------------- Peace, Love and Family is what my soul searches for, it's my body that keeps getting me lost.
Don't worry about getting "mundane" tattoos, sunshine- I think they're all fine ideas Like you said, the point isn't to be crazy-innovative, you have your reasons for liking the designs and none of them scream awful or regretful, I'd say go for it!
When my ex gf would go tanning she had this heart on her bikini and somehow it always went through onto her skin. Like a white outline of it. It was cool
2/3 of people who get a tattoo regret them. If you have any doubt at all that maybe you don't want it, I would say don't get it. People change, I used to be a huge black metal fan, so I got something related to that all evil and shit, and then I grew out of the hot topic phase, your still stuck with that ink. I know if alot of people especialy women that are very sorry for tats of only a few years ago. They change, they have kids, it turns out to be a mistake.
I doubt you'd regret it until you were in your late 60's, imo a heart on a girls hip is pretty hot. You can't go wrong with something like that, just don't cover yourself in hearts lol.
I think the themes are fun because they're classic and mean something to you. I do think that you'll have to do something creative with them or they'll just be rather hoo-hum. But, yes, get what you want. Just make sure they're really well done.
UGH Care bears. I had a nightmare all through out my childhood of this army or carebears that stole me away from my mom. I had care bear wall paper and everything, man. Awful.
Get it, you like it. Tattoo's were originally for just the art, or for the hell of it. You don't need a reason to get something done. If you love the way it looks that's good enough. And if regret it later, I'm sure your putting entirely too much thought into it. Just don't let the public eye see your tatt's and you'll be a okay. People are forgetting the art in body mod these days...
Actually the hips aren't too bad of a spot. Not as bad as the belly. If while you are pregnant you are very adamant about using a lotion such as Palmer's Coco Butter for stretch marks. They make one just for pregnancy. You shouldn't have too much stretching. My wife shows no stretch marks at all, it is amazing and I would recommend that to any woman going to get pregnant. Thought that might help a bit
