i stumbled across this while surfing the web. i already see some errors in it (the guy who made it claims to be a professional chemist). what do you guys think? VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV Lysergic Acid Amide Extraction -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Method for the Extraction and Usage of LSA from Hawaiian Baby Woodrose Seeds or Morning Glory Seeds (15 medium doses) by Dave Mennenoh HBWR: To dose, you don't have to remove all the shell, but just take a pocket knife and scrape all the "dark-brown" stuff off until the seed is completely a "creme" color. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Items you will need: 128 HBWR seeds (No hulls); seeds only. Or 3,500 MG seeds. A 50ml liquor bottle. These are the small 'airplane'-sized ones. It should state 50ml on it. A quantity of non-polar solvent. Coleman's White gas is perfect. 190 proof Everclear, or Vodka. Ethanol. (Bacardi 151) A small funnel comes in handy. A couple small jars with good lids. Some coffee filters. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Extraction Instructions: Grind the seeds to a powder in a coffee grinder. Place the powder into a small jar and pour in enough of the White gas to fully cover the seeds. You can't really use too much, but leave enough room so it shakes well. Screw on the lid and shake well for a few minutes. Let it sit for an hour or so, shaking every so often. Shaking is good. Pour the seed / solvent solution through a coffee filter and let it drain. Putting the coffee filter into a funnel first works well. The solvent is no longer needed but can be re-used, so save it. Spread out the seed mush on the coffee filter which it is in, on a plate or something, and let the seeds fully dry out. You should smell no solvent when it's fully evaporated. It may take a couple of hours. Don't breathe the solvent fumes, if you can help it. Once the seeds are fully dried place the powder into a clean small jar, with a good tight fitting lid. Fill the 50ml liquor bottle with your Ethanol (this is to measure it) and then dump that amount into the small jar with the seed powder. Shake well. This should sit for 3 days and shake it whenever you think of it. Okay 3 days have passed, it's almost time. Again, stick a coffee filter in a funnel and then pour the Ethanol / Seed solution into the filter. Let it drain thoroughly. Once it's close you can squeeze out excess alcohol, but be careful not to break the filter. You can now discard the seeds, as the good stuff is in the alcohol solution that's left. Now pour the solution into the 50ml liquor bottle and let it sit for a couple of hours. Any seed powder remaining in the solution will settle to the bottom. Once it has, pour off the alcohol, rinse the seed crap out of the bottle, and pour the alcohol solution back in. Add enough of the clean alcohol to fill the bottle and you're done. You now have 50ml of drinkable alcohol containing the extract from 150 HBWR seeds, which should be a yellowish, clear liquid, that looks much like tequila. Normal dosage of HBWR is 5-12 seeds, MG about 200-400 seeds and it's easy to measure. You can either get an oral syringe at any drug store that has a 1-5ml gradated gauge on the side, or use measuring spoons. 1tsp=5ml of liquid. 1ml of the 'tincture' = 3 seeds. I've found that 3ml of the liquid works very well. Mix with water, or anything else. This method works very well, is easy to dose, easy to prepare, and you should not experience any nausea. Also, because the LSA's are extracted they take way less longer to start working. Expect to feel the effects within an hour. Keep your little bottle in the fridge. Heat is bad for all tryptamines. Something to note: You can evaporate off the alcohol and you will be left with the alkaloids which you can put into gel caps etc. But, this is harder to dose, etc. I've found the alcohol method very easy and precise.
for one thing it suggests that you could extract the lsa presumably leaving the bad stuff behind, i have my doubts though as to weather you could do this with about an hour of shaking for powder from over 1000 morning glory seeds. he even states that you should remove the covering of the hbwr seeds first (if the extraction preserved the alcoloids while removing the poisens then you would think that this would be unnessisary right?) so what do you think, am i wrong or does this guy not know what hes talking about?
The dark hard shell contains alkaloids which are bad. Inside that hard shiny shell is a slightly less dark matted material, like a foam, which contains alot of the nausa causing things. The seed itself contains little of those other agents, but those parts above contain NO LSA's so removing them very well is key to this procedure, If done well it would take less time to remove them all together. However, If I were you, I'd let it soak at least a day, and I'd soak it twice before evap.
what name is white gas sold under anyway? is it in a big metal container clearly labeled white gas or what? i cant seem to find it so i must be looking for the wrong thing (or im looking at the wrong stores).
use naptha (zippo lighter fluid) if you don't have access to lab grade solvents. Coleman fuel has this green stuff in it that will mess it up. If you use lighter fluid make sure you evaporate a litlle bit of it first, to make sure it evaporates cleanly.
your talking about just basic coleman fuel though right? white gas is supposed to be "cleaner" or something like that. honestly i dont know because i dont know what to look for (i would need to buy some and evaporate it before i could guess whether or not it was safe). has anyone bought colemans white gas before? what does the container look like? is it only sold in certain stores?
goto the hardware store and buy some Naptha paint thinner. its always 100% pure, and it should say that it is. it evaps nicely I know from years of exp.
ok i just bought what i think is colemans white gas. how do i tell if i bought the right thing? the container doesnt say what it is, the container is metal. i went to the store and only saw one choice, in a silver container, it didnt say whether it was white gas or regular gas (is there a difference) in all my searching for white gas this is the only thing i ever found. the guy at the store pointed this out to me when i asked if they carried white gas (i had my doubts whether or not he was telling the truth or just trying to make a sale). now concidering one leaves poisonous residue(or both do if white gas and normal gas are the same thing???) it would help to know which one i got. so can anyone help me out here? (i am determined to use white gas(assuming it doesnt leave poisonous residue) because its what the original recipe called for and it has yet to prove inadequate)
nevermind i did an evap and i was right, the guy at the store i bought it from lied to me, its just unleaded gasoline. well, maybe ill try naptha. i guess ill keep this thread updated, though i dont know if anyone really posts on this sub catagory.
i tried again and found out that "white gas" leaves a film. im going to just experiment with the seeds alone crushed i think. extractions prove tricky, good solvents are hard to find, some of the soluability properties of lsa are unknown, and many extractions result in ineffective material.
shucks... grind the seeds up in a blender... do a cold ethanol (vodka) extraction for 24 hours, filter & save liquid; & then a cold distilled water rinse on the marc for 24 hours, filter & combine with the alcohol... keep cold & dark (a brown eyedropper vial in the fridge) & it should keep pretty well for a week or 2 (& much longer if you add a pinch of vit C & keep the vial in the freezer...)
has this method been tried successfully before? how many seeds does one need for a minimal effective dose with this method?
