114.5 Acres for sale. I've got it listed at CAN$94,900. This was going to be my parents' dream home - they had the beautiful log home chosen and a downpayment with the builder... then my dad got lymphoma. We put on the market a month later (May) hoping that it would sell. It's still up there. This land is well ditched, with a handsom culvert. It is a bit chewed up, but that wasn't a problem for us. We were to level it after building. The back 40 acres or so is wetland due to a beaver dam in the ditching. We liked the beavers and did not displace them. It would be your decision. The wetlands are not protected. The little baby fish spend spring in the ditch, and you can see them swim around at the driveway. They go back to the deeper water when summer comes. The ditching connects up to a municiple drainway which feeds into a river... if it weren't for the beavers, you could kayak the whole way, I think. We made it to the dam. Didn't actually take that long, but I wasn't brave enough to go further. Can you step on a dam? portage across it? We had an offer for $60,000. That kinda hurt our feelings. We have a loan out on it still, and we'd lose so much of the equity... that we turned turned the offer down. I'm not 100% that we made the right choice, but ... I don't know if this is the right kind of a place to put all this information. However, if anyone here is actually interested in this kind of a "for sale", please let me know. My parents have got about 2 months worth of saving left. I would appreciate any leads that I can get... to help out with the sale of the land. There is a driveway already installed.

Nearest town... Halfway between Kemptville and Merrickville. The River is the Rideau. I've seen maps that say they (the ditch systems) all connect up, but I don't know from personal experience. Rollingalong, I'll PM you the link. EDIT: I really have to figure out how to use this forum. World, here's the link: http://www.realtor.ca/propertyDetails.aspx?propertyId=8315679 I hope that isn't too... identity-risky... :S Thank you, you all, for showing interest. I honestly didn't expect any responses...
