My hair is now about 25cm, or about 10". Do you think I should dread my hair now, or wait till it's a little longer? I was keen on getting extensions too, but then they would have lost their charm of being 100% me. Oh and yes, I look baked.

    "Should I dread my hair?"

No, not if you have to ask. Besides, it dreads itself. You don't have to do anything.

I didn't ask wether or not I should dread my hair, shadygrov. I asked if you think I'll have better results dreading it now or if I wait.

Why do you feel you have to wait?

I don't want really short locks, because I know they'll lose some length when backcombed and also shrink in the dreading process, and I don't want them being too short :X

The title of the thread is "Should I dread my hair?"

Your hair is plenty long to dread. Just quit using shampoo and conditioner. Don't comb it ever again and dreads will form. Other methods will jump start the process but the waiting is all the same.

I wouldn't worry about length at all. I would just do what the others say and throw away your comb. Look around for threads on soap and washing.

my hair was your length when I stopped brushing. your hair is a fine length to dread. you should def start sooner than later if you really want locks too...

I started with 4 inches. Your hair is long enough.
