Busted with legal paraphenilia and just bad luck

This was about five years ago when I was living in Michigan. I just have to mention it because this night was total bullshit.

Lets start from the beginning. I woke up one afternoon and decided to go to the gas station and stop and get some food before work. When I went out to my car, realizing that someone broke into it and stole my stereo system. I was furious!! I went inside and called the cops to make a police report. They said the cops will be over in less than an hour. Well, three hours later, the cops never showed. I had to be at work. So I called them up and asked if they could stop by the next day since I had to leave. They said no problem and I went off to work, stopping at a gas station and a subway. I decided to stop by this head shop to maybe buy a new glass piece since I was very pissed off. I at least wanted something good to happen that day. I saw this beautiful glass pipe that was blue and pink in it. Pipes in Michigan are very expensive. Way more expensive that in California where I live now. I spent $60 on this nice piece (which would have ran $20-$30 in Cali). But I had a really sweet pipe. Then I went to work and made pizza's all day. i showed some people my pipe, which they admired it but I never got the chance to smoke out of it yet.

Later on in the evening, I got out of work. I go home and make some phone calls. Now, I didn't have any weed to smoke and I was trying to buy a bag so I could try out the new piece. I called up my boyfriend at the time to see if he could help me out. He said yeah, of course but there was a party going on and wanted to know if I wanted to go to that and he'll help me out while there. I thought, great. I'll be going to a party tonight=) So I get ready and him and his friend pick me up. I decide to take the bowl with me, never been smoked out of before. We stop at a grocery store to buy some booze and were meeting with people at the store.

Now, might I add, this was before any of us were 21 years old. we were 20, and only my ex boyfriend was of age to buy alcohol. He was buying for a car full of people and another car full of people who met up with us there. He walks into the store and buys beer and liquor and comes out and puts it all in his trunk. Then a couple cops pull up behind us. They pulled us over because we looked "suspicious". They got our ID's and didn't know about the alcohol in the trunk but for some reason, they decided to take us out of the car, one at a time. The other car left and were in no trouble. But our car, they searched each one of us without any reason.

My ex boyfriends friend had a glass pipe on him but no weed. It was obviously smoked out of though. Then they searched me. They found my brand new pipe in my pocket. Again, IT WAS BRAND NEW.... NEVER SMOKED OUT OF AND 100% LEGAL FOR ME TO CARRY IN OUR STATE. They told me they knew exactly what I was going to use it for and forced me to break it on the cement. I refused. So they took it and I sat there watching them looking like dumbasses trying to smash it for five minutes and it wouldn't break. Then one of them actually threw it across the parking lot, leaving broken glass everywhere. I was pissed.

They had no reason to do that, especially since they never even wanted to look in the trunk to find the bag of alcohol we bought. They never even asked about us drinking. After they busted up my pipe, they were getting ready to leave when one cop, asked me if I was the girl who called earlier about the stolen car stereo. I said, "Yeah,that was me". The one cop said in exact words, "DON'T CALL US TO MAKE A REPORT BECAUSE WE DON'T HELP DRUG ADDICTS". Now WTF??? I should have gotten his name and badge number but never did because I was so flustered. I knew he was bullshitting me. But I called the police station the next day. They put me on hold then told me they'll call back in five minutes. Never did. I called back a half hour later and they told me they were unable to send an officer over and apologized for my loss.

That's our police for you. A bunch of pricks.

 

well first off what is telling the cops some guy stole your stero gonna do???? they are not going to do some hardore crime scene investigation with finger prints n shit over a stereo stealer. you need to have caught the guy with a camera or caught him in the act. do you think they have gps on the stealer or your stereo??? filing this report will do nothing for you or them wasted time.

Now back to the cops in the parking lot. You are a fool for allowing that cop to break your pipe. If you told him it's a tabacco pipe and your 18 he can't take your tabacco pipe WTF???? tabacco is not illegal. there was no weed resin in the pipe either so how can he take your tabacco pipe and break your tabacco pipe accusing you a tabacco smoker of being a weed smoker. Why did you hand him your pipe or even let him take it? the cop is stealing from you and vandalising your personal belongings. the cop is doing things that are illegal so you are a complete FOOOOL for not taking a cop to court and prosecuting him for his illegal actions. He took advantage of you because he thought you were a stoner and thought stoners were stupid and he can get away with that shit because stoners are paranoid and guess what he did get away with it!!!!!!!! you are the one at fault because you did not stand up for yourself or your rights and let someone run over you. cops are humans too remember that. but to end this rant those cops are complete assholes and very manipulative to un-educated individuals.

 

Maybe I didn't explain my whole story properly. I was afraid that I would have rambled on for too long if I did.

First of all, you're always supposed to report stolen items to the police even if you have no strong evidence. People take shit to pawn shops and try to get money back for stolen items. I know there was no hope and the stereo was long gone. However, the pawn shops in the area I used to live in really investigate items that are pawned. If I made a police report and someone pawns off an item that is stolen, there is a chance something could happen with that. But of course there's also a 98% chance that I'd never see my stereo again.

As for the cops vandalizing my property and you calling me a fool, they wanted me to break my own pipe. I refused and argued with them over it. I know my rights and I did not hand it over to the cops. They gave me back my pipe when they told me to break it. Instead, I put it back into my pocket and we discussed this for a long time before I sat back down into the vehicle when they grabbed me from the vehicle, removed my jacket and threatened to handcuff me. My friends grabbed a hold of me and told me to relax and let the cops confiscate my pipe. I argued with the cops but they finally broke my shit. As I said, I did not get their names since I was so upset but after they broke my pipe I tried to get a glimpse of their badge but couldn't see anything by this time they were too far away for me to see. My ex boyfriend asked what the officers names were since I made a comment to him about not getting their names. He shouts out for their names but they ignored him and just got into their car and drove off. I attempted to contact the police department several times after this but got nowhere. The next day I wasn't just calling to make with the police report, I was trying to tell someone about the cops in my area but none of them would give me information. So don't call me a fool. I guess I am a fool for not explaining the whole story. As you could see, I typed up a lot of shit. I tried to sum it up as best as I could so I failed to mention all of my actions.

 

you shoulda let them handcuff you and bring you into the station then. Because then there you are at the police station to bust them. im sorry for calling you fool or names but you should not let them take advantage of you. What criminal activity at the time could the cop arrest you???? Think about it. What would the cop say in court?????? uhhhh I handcuffed and arrested this girl because she would not break her tabacco pipe like I said???????????? did you say to the cop that's not a weed pipe or something during the search????????? cus unless you verbally mentioned weed the cop can't assume or judge you as a marijuana smoker. you should not of let your friend tell you to calm down or backed down against this cop. you SERIOUSLY could have gotten this guy fired if this was true. Cops abusing their power is not taken lightly in court as they are not obeying the cops OATH OF DUTY. Maybe the cop said he was going to handcuff you to scare you????? and he def did and won because he manipulated you with good speach and scares. cops can threaten a lot but can't do all they say remember that. cops always exaggerate stuff to make a point or to get a answer out of someone. never say anything stupid and know your rights. if that cop would of handcuffed you then what's next what is he gonna do??? you know what I mean. would he just make you sit there in the car handcuffed till you break the pipe and if you didn't break it what would he have done make you sit their for 2 hours till he finally realizes he's wasting his time?????????? then you can report him for wasting his time on the job for holding someone for no reason for 2 hours. and if he arrested you and took you into the station then like I said earlier your right there in the damn whole station. you could bust him right there and get your handcuffs right off and leave the station after watching his ass get busted. you seriously could have screwed this guy bad real bad. to bad you were flustered and did not ask for their names or badge number through all the chit chat about your rights with the cop.

edit: also rather than argue with the cop you should of said im not wasting my time arguing with a dirty cop gimme your badge number and name because no cop is gonna force me to break my tobacco pipe. the reason he kept trying to break your pipe was because simply you were arguing with him. he knew you were flustered in that case eh? that cop totally pwned you guys being flustered is not an excuse.

 

They disabled the smoking apparatus you were going to be using in the car on American Highways.. You can get a new smoking device at your next destination..

IM sorry about your loss I recently had to smash my own glass pipe. It was the first one I ever had, my parents took it about 2 years ago and said I could have it back once I was 20, but then I got arrested and we find out a pariphinilia fine is absolutely crazy, so they made me destroy it, they wouldn't let me give it to one of my friends or anything =(

Thoughs cops were really mean though. They assumed it was for weed cuz your other friend got caught with a pipe with obvious resin in it, sorry for your loss =(

 

Most cops arew cops because
A. They where pricks in school and want to be able to "be in charge and tell people what to do" or

B. They where picked on by pricks in school and now want to be able to "be in charge and tell people what to do".

I have met some nice cops howver.

But it sounds like they just took advantage of you because you were a young kid.
