They clear-cut and use little or no post consumer waste in their paper products. For this, they suck. I'll wipe me nose on my sleeve before I grab a Kleenex.
"They" clearcut? really? or is it the suppliers that supply them, along with dozens of other companies? You might have a point with Kleenex, need to look into that one more...but it would be unfair to say Kimberly-Clark don't have a sustainability policy. http://www.kimberly-clark.com/aboutus/sustainability/sustainability_home.aspx Kimberly-Clark announces greener wood fiber sourcing http://news.mongabay.com/2009/0806-kimberly-clark.html I'm thinking this Boycott has come a little too late - things have already moved on. Think Kleenex sucks? don't by that particular brand, imo.
I stand corrected. http://www.greenpeace.org/usa/campaigns/forests/kleercut And I don't hate Kleenex, as such; just the methods used to procure the raw materials. And, of course, I meant the companies supplying K-C and their methods. Not that it would exonerate K-C.
I find almost all wood to be good (morning, in particular). That being said, there's still an awful lot of companies using little or no past-consumer paper in making their paper products. It is worth the time and effort to buy ecologically.
Lol. There is still an awful lot of companies not being ecologically aware. But, we live in a free market society and they don'y have to do it if they don't wish. What kinda grinds my gears is the small companies never get busted. Accumulatively they make a substantial amount of contribution to the downfall of our planet.
I really can't argue that point. It's a bottom-line based society and everyone in business to obtain the dollar will, likely, take the shortest route to it. All I can say in my defense is it's more fun to shoot at giants.
Corporate giants such as Dow Chemical and Archer Daniels Midland are (in all likelihood) MUCH GREATER POLLUTERS than all of the "little guys" combined, so I would argue that it really DOES make more sense to go after the "big shots" instead of wasting your time on those little "mom and pop" operations. It also goes without saying that the "big shots" really ARE a more formidable adversary than the so-called "little guys." I wish that I could delineate a plan on how bring those multi-national giants into compliance with local environmental laws. I would postulate that it all starts with politics at the national level. If enough citizens cared, they could petition the military to take action against high-ranking traitors in the government. It isn't hard to imagine a military coup against the current regime in Washington, but actually putting such a plan into action is going to present an immense challenge. Maybe you should talk to your neighbors and you should ask them to stop watching football.
Lol...WOW...Only you could turn a discussion about toilet tissue into something about the overthrown of a government.
It won't do any good for the citizens to vote given that the voting process is totally corrupted, so there's really no other realistic way, outside of a military coup, for the citizens to stand up for their own interests against the criminals who are running the show. It's totally possible to have a military coup that actually RESTORES the rule of constitutional law by ousting the criminal class which has infected the government with its ever-domineering presence.
I'm laughing at you altering the conversation from tissues to a governmental coup. We were not even talking about the government for pity's sake. :smilielol5:
