wax on? wax off?

this will be my third time with dreads... I hear so many different opinions about using wax. I have always done natural locks with no products. It seems to me that wax just inhibits the natural locking process while also creating nasty residue build up... any thoughts?

Actually since I brought 4 grands worth of shares in ICI i am now pro-wax. Use as much as you can, as often as you can.

some people like wax, I personally think it's a load of shit and yet another marketing scam. so goodonya not using it.
