Hi Guys I am new to this site. I have been meditating for quite a while now (21 months) and feel as though I have made so much progress and opened up spiritually and mentally. I first came to experience meditation through the use of Binaural beats which produced beautifully deep sessions of bliss and calm for me which also had the added benefit of improving my creativity and memory. Unfortunately I began to tire of binaural beats as I built up a tolerance to the entrainment effects and so sought unassisted forms of the art.

After 3 months of my meditation quest I discovered new age music and found it to be the perfect companion to my meditations and allowed me to become entranced in the music and so go deeper.

21 months on and I feel that many new doors have opened up for me. Firstly I have a different attitude to life, I can see the deeper side of things and am not so prone to just thinking of the here and now. I also meditate largely to control my medical condition. I have just been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and find that meditation seems to have massive healing potential and neutralizes my stress which is A BIG TRIGGER FOR MY FLARE-UPS.

However I would say that I have experienced the greatest change in my spiritual side since discovering meditation. 3 months after beginning my practice I discovered that a new ability of soughts revealed itself to me. I found that on some occasions after meditating I could shift my self into a trance state where I experienced highly variable VISIONS. Since Im also an aspiring artist a lot of the imagery id get would be a new art piece which I could produce. I found that this faculty became a great tool and I couldn’t just use it for creative inspiration but it also operated to provide insight into my personal life and a method of conscious exploration. Strangely I also have found that meditation has been an enhancement to my sense of sight. I can see colour and light in more detail than I could before and also have a greater sense of awareness so much so that I can normally sense a minor change in the environment

I have had visions where I found myself place in a situation I had been stressing on such a s a confrontation regarding, jobs, relationships etc, which kind of helped me to understand how I could handle a situation before it arised. Recently this new faculty has also caused me to begin taking journeys into what seems like my past. On three recent occasions now I have found myself transported to my house in a past time. Its not necessarily that I am travelling back in time its like I find myself in my room and see long time forgotten items. I admit I have kind of had some strange fear of this place when I am lead there, however I also feel as though its for a purpose, as though I have to search through my past to learn more about myself.

Anyways sorry I have waffled on here its just that there is so much to say about how meditation has shaped me over time you cant exactly write it down on a page can you.

    Thank you.
