    Freedom in the US???
Are you aware that you may be arrested (and put on a public registry for the rest of your life and be required to report all your passwords & email addresses to the sheriff) if you have consensual sex with a minor (teens w/teens!),urinate in public, look at 'certain types of pictures' on the net too long (not even downloading them!),mooning or streaking?
You will not be allowed to live or work within a 1000ft from a school, daycare center, church, park, any place 'children' congregate.
The Library, attending church, ballgames are off limits.

    Just something to think about.

Contact your legislators to change these crazy laws!

This is an issue not to be taken lightly.
Urinating in public is not child abuse nor is consensual sex with your barely
    18 year old partner. (17 1/2 )
To ruin a young persons life because of a prank (mooning!), peeing,
    you grabbing your girlfriend/boyfriends' ass...
These are 'crimes' that, in many states in the US, will put you on the registry.
The Corrections System fails when they let known predators out to reoffend.
Jaycee Dugard is a perfect case! They really dropped the ball on that one!
Pretty soon there will be an all inclusive registry,so watch your step folks!
There are not enough bridges for everyone in the US to live under.
Been down to the Julia Tuttle lately?

You're right, Peaches. American sex laws are insane, driven by fear and ignorance. The American public is so phobic about sex that its easy to demonize anyone. Yeah, you're right mooning and streaking are just silly and no more. Public pissing is nothing more than bad manners but with the right cop and judge it can be the end of normal life. I know these things because I'm a therapist contracted to the Dept of Corrections to provided treatment for paroled sex offenders. Make no mistake, many of the guys I work with did horrible things to innocent people/kids. They will be the first to tell you they deserve punishment. On the other hand there is a 15 year old boy who was seduced by a 20+ yr old girl. When the girls father found out, the boy ended up a sex offender because the girl cried rape. It has ruined the boys life. High school lovers who were able to have sex without breaking the law got into trouble when he turned 18 and she was still 16.

The laws have gotten totally out of touch with the "crime". There was a time when the girls father took a boy off to one side and explained the consequences of sexually impropriaty. Not now, now you're an OFFENDER. Nobody will hire you, you have to stay within range of the monitor and GPS. You wanna go look for a job, call a few days ahead of time and get permission for movement, same with shopping or medical appts. Electricity gets knocked out by a storm, back to jail cause the electronic monitor doesn't work. There is a great article in a recent edition of The Economst magazine about the failure of American sex laws. It's well worth a read.

Want a real perspective, go to a developing nation where little kids run naked, where there are no public toilets and people pee where they can, where girls are often married to older men and it isn't an abusive relationship. Whole village go to the river to bath and socialize in many jungle setting. Boys and men can hug and hold hands and nobody gets freaky and yells gay.

So yeah Peaches, you got a real point and I hope folks listen.
