I would be interested to hear more. Although it is fairly widespread, I don't know where people got the idea that sex was the original sin. After all why would God tell them to be fruitful and multiply and fill the Earth and then make the act of doing so, a sin?
St Augustine. He was a rake in his youth, so he felt pretty shitty once he became a Christian and thought that the sexual act was how Original Sin was passed from parents to children. It wasn't that sex was the original sin, but that the sexual act continues to pass it along. Needless to say, I agree with you.
