no worries not tryin to start anything. It seems like everyone (including myself!) get so worked up on doing dreads the "right" way and needing to know every little thing, when really all you gotta do is nothing! Well, one thing I guess, just separate them to get them at the right thickness, but other then that and washing them like normal hair basically theres really nothin to it! Patience is the #1 thing. and getting used to the weird looks ya get when its in the hobo hair lookin stage haha. I love my dreads to death and its sooo low maintenance too, and quite rewarding if you can have the patience to do em.

So to all that are thinkin about starting dreads, relax, unless you're backcombing or something you dont need to know anything more then "dont comb, and separate". Thats it. No need for special shampoos or washes or soaks, unless you really want to. Sit back and enjoy the journey :cheers2:

Another thing, I wish my friend Amber didnt have to comb out her dreads (she had lice, and eczema and needed to take em out to put medicine on her scalp :( ), Hers made more progress in 1 month then mine did in 3 months, so by prob 5 or 6 months hers woulda looked like mine do now, they were going to be sooo fucking beautiful! She cried the day she had to comb them out :(

ehh not really sorry :(, i might have some that show the back/sides somewhere i can look, but most of the pictres of me thru out the progress is only the front or not really easy to see, id say they started looking somewhat like dreads at about 5ish months? these last few months have been some really good progress. But im not sure as i really just tried to forget i even had them so time would fly!

Word, Mr. Junkie, nice work/neglect! most of my friends didn't even know I was locking until I hit about 7 months. My neighbor who had had dreads couldn't even tell until I went camping for a bit, dropped some sid, and hung out in a river for two days of 90+ degrees and BAM: locktastic.
