To the assholes with dead-baby pics outside of abortion clinics.

Everyone has the right to peacefully assemble, everyone has the right to free speech. That being said, you guys are total fucking assholes.
I can't even begin to contemplate the thoughts and emotions going through those poor women's minds when they go through those doors, but i imagine it is a pretty horrific experience.
These are those 'meek' that jesus kept going on about, the people who are down-and-out fucked, who have no one and nothing. These people are Jesus, he doesn't reside in the hearts of those who are casting the stones, but those that are getting stoned (no pun intended).
You people make me sick. You know you aren't really going to accomplish anything by calling women sluts or baby-killers, and you know that, don't you? You know that the only reason you do this is because it makes you feel good, that you aren't in that situation, and that you can make someone who can't fight back hurt. You are horrible horrible people and god will judge you in his own time.
If you want to do something about abortion, don't send a bunch of zealot-eyed assholes down there, send your blue-haired church ladies, you know the type, the ones with the warm demeanor and the kick-ass macaroons, and have them say to those poor women: "Dear, have you considered all the options, have a cup of tea and let's talk."
But then again that wouldn't saitiate your blood lust. you sick twisted fucks.

Yaaaay! Did you read that article in Rolling Stone a few months back about the guy in Kansas or somewhere who just harrasses everyone who works at the clinics? He even tried to get the dry cleaner that the secretary used to refuse business to her! He like camped outside her house with a bunch of protesters and shit.... the guy's an asshole. Grrr.....

 

I consider it a waste of breath to talk to zealous anti-abortionists. They're convinced that the right to life begins at the moment of conception and that the mother has no right to terminate her pregnancy. Once she becomes pregnant she is morally bound to carry her pregnancy to term.

I've seen them carrying signs saying, "Have an abortion/Burn in Hell" and "Abortionists are mass murderers". You can't tell them it's none of their business since they believe that trying to stop a woman from having an abortion is no different than trying to stop her from deliberately killing a child who has already been born, or for that matter killing another adult.

I say let it be up to the woman who's pregnant, she should not be forced by law to complete her pregnancy. It's a difficult enough decision without being subjected to these self-righteous fanatics and their harassment.

 

I hate insane pro-lifers. They make me sick.


When my sister was a freshman at college, she walked past a pro-life protest or rally or something, and this guy ran up to her, screaming, and started to accuse her of being a slut and supporting/having abortions. What the Hell is wrong with these people? She was just walking to her class and had nothing to do with any of the protests and she was attacked. Besides, she would never have an abortion anyway.

Dumb fucks.

Well, i can see where pro-lifers come from. They just believe that life begins at conception, not birth, and since there is no rational way to figure out who's right, I can see their side of the issue.
It's the people that use this as an excuse to hurt others, to bully them, to pick on them because they are weaker than they are that make me want to go on a killing spree.
I can stand people who's opinions, views, and beliefs are different than mine, I can't stand people who hurt others because it makes them feel good.

 

I can't stand fanatics on either side of the issue.

I can't say I have any more of a problem with people using the abortion pictures than I have with people using pictures of Iraqis blown to pieces for their respective causes. I just can't stand religious psychos shouting crap at people. I seriously think they are somewhat insane. And not a cool kind of insane.

 

i would imagine it's very much the same to them to show dead baby pics as it is to war protestors to show dead civilian pics. they're angry. not particularly effective and definitely causing some terrible psychic damage to women in a very bad place, but to them they're trying to stop a murder. if they were protesting your death sentence, you'd probably be pretty happy about that.

To be clear here, I've never gone and protested at an abortion clinic. I am one of the few "liberals" (though I'm actually more of an anarchist, but whatever) who firmly believes that abortion is indeed murder and should never happen - though I don't believe the solution is a legal one - the solution is a complete shift from a death-centered culture to one that respects life, but I digress...

In terms of these pictures, I don't see anything wrong with people standing QUIETLY with them outside of clinics - in fact, anyone who looks at the reality of abortion (which really is a disgusting, brutal, gruesome practice) and is too sickened to proceed with an abortion shouldn't be having one. If you can't look at the reality of your actions and follow through anyway, those actions are probably WRONG. I certainly agree that yelling at young women and calling them names (especially when the ultimate failure is not with the woman, but with the twisted society that causes this garbage in the first place) is sick - and hypocritical, since most of these protesters are calling themselves "christians" (though they are the same people who voted for the murdering Bush administration and who fight against every bit of social progress that could reduce the number of abortions).

This is how I feel as well. I'm glad there are other people who have rational and consistent values here.
I agree that sometimes people need to see the true result of their actions. Whether it be pictures of war, abortion, starving people, disease, or environmental destruction. We have become very detached from our actions (especially in the U.S.) and I think the result is apathy. If grotesque pictures are required to make people see that their actions are deplorable, then so be it.
I'm also glad you see that the republicans, esp. the religious right, are not the answer. Which is why it frustrates me that the Democrats don't shove this down their vile throats. Not even necessarily to get more votes, but to represent those of us who feel this way. Maybe there aren't many democrats that feel this way though, I don't think you consider yourself one, nor do I. Liberals then maybe.

 

You can blame that on places like Planned Parenthood....selling t-shirts that say "I had an abortion". Sorry, but some things shouldn't be de-stigmatized.
