Im starting in a new high school. I seem to be the only hippy around Know one seems to be optimistic. Ive been looking for friends anywhere near sacramento or San Francisco. So is their anybody out there?
i've been here (this site) a long time.. i'm the closest person to you... there are a lot of nice folks in california though.. the mom part of me wants to remind you to be careful of folks you meet online.. and since you're young.. maybe only chat with them online.. i know.. i know.. i just worry..
So much depends upon where you're located. I mean, you're gonna run into hippies in NorCal eventually, but if you're north of SF the chances are higher than if you're south of Sacramento. Coffee houses (REAL ones, not the corporate or imitation-corporate ones) are great places to meet people. For example, in Sacramento, Espresso Metro (11th Avenue & Freeport Blvd.) between Sac City College and McClatchy h.s. or Java Lounge on 16th & X Streets are terrific hang-outs. The Cafe Meditteraneum on Telegraph Ave. in Berkeley (and Telegraph Ave. in general) also comes to mind. There are places all around northern Calif, but it's true that being in high school is a different situation than being of college age. The great part is, you're on your journey! Hey Rainbow. You should try to enroll in art classes. I go to a community college for ceramics. Most of the teens seem to be hippies. High schoolers can take college courses or I'm sure there are other art classes around. Good luck.
