You know what...maybe he did. Maybe he just didnt feel like putting clothes on. It doesnt matter. The fact is the guy was just doing some shopping...he didnt have bits of material covering bits of his body. What the fuck is the big deal?

YOU are the one with the issue. Not socially acceptable? You need to ask yourself why...why that guy couldnt just be left to get on with his shopping in peace. He wasnt flashing anyone or playing with himself, he wasnt harassing anyone, he wasnt saying HEY, LOOK AT ME, I HAVE A PENIS! He was just getting on with his own business, but chose not to wear clothes. YOU turned it into something unacceptable in your own mind

Our bodies are not something to be ashamed of and hide away. Its awful the reaction this poor man got just because the OP saw his body. Grow the hell up!

You have been brainwashed into thinking clothes are mandatory by those around you, and not wearing clothes is somehow dirty or shameful or private or sexual or shocking. It is none of these things. Theyre just bits of cloth and if youre sweating underneath them it seems pretty ridiculous to me for a supposedly evolved being to keep them on because of some senseless taboo

Really. So you believe that walking around the city naked is sociably acceptable, don't 'ya? You think that walking into a grocery store and seeing someone purchasing food, butt naked, wouldn't, or shouldn't create any reaction whatsoever cause it's perfectly fine?

Come on, man... I understand the whole "free spirit" crap, but if you want to be butt naked, do it in front of people who share your views. Just knowing that the high majority of people out there get offended at seeing someone naked should be enough to respect society and not show your willy... Especially in a grocery store.

Yes, while in a fantasy world, everyone should be running around naked with peace and harmony around us, smoking bats and laughing and singing. But this is the real world, and considering the other factors around, I wouldn't be happy seeing a naked dude in a grocery store.

lol... Really, I think not wearing clothes in a store didn't require a "Hey look at me, I have a penis" statement.

If you think there's absolutely nothing weird, strange, odd, unacceptable, etc etc with getting up and walking around the city naked, then why do you put clothes on during warm days? Unless you do walk around the city naked, however, I haven't seen a "Hey I walked around the city naked and it was great" thread by you yet, so I highly doubt it.

People like you and I decide what is socially acceptable. Its our views as a collective. Whilst I am not arguing that the majority would have some uncalled for reaction to a person sans clothes, that doesnt mean you personally have to join the bandwagon without having any reason other than what others are saying. Once more people have the courage to go against the grain and say "actually, theres absolutely nothing wrong with that", thats when "society" gains new values, as what is considered acceptable is always changing as we gain new insight

As I stated, the only reason people object to nakedness alone is because theyve been brought up to believe they should, to believe there is something inherently wrong in just being naked, and as I have also explained, there clearly isnt

I personally dont go out to the shops naked ONLY because I dont want to get arrested/kicked out/laughed at because people like you are bleeting the same tired out rubbish that being naked is wrong. However, that in no way means I cant stand up for someone who was brave enough to do it despite this awful prejudice and peoples senseless disdain for him, and what threads I may or may not have created really have no relevance here

As for the mans genitals, if you honestly believe him not having clothes on was all about his dick I think youll find that came from your own mind. There is no evidence to show he wanted everyone to think about or stare at his penis. Just as there is no evidence he wanted people to stare at his arm, or thigh, or nipples. Its just his body, he was just out shopping, and if you have issues with seeing other males genitals thats your problem, not his

I don't believe what I want to believe because of what mahority of mainstream society tells me. I try to use a balanced approach when dealing with anything, one that tells me that walking around naked might offend some people, and make others extremely uncomfortable. Therefore, out of respect for the people around me, like children, older folks, who don't find the "normality" in walking around naked, I won't do it.

I agree with you here. However, I think it depends on the issue. Seeing how there are many cultural differences, I think going naked is something that could be avoided.

Maybe to you there clearly isn't but to majority of those out there, there clearly is.

Who ever said that not having clothes on was about his dick ? you see, on one hand you state that walking into a store naked, for this man, was just as normal as someone walking into the store with clothes on... But then you say you have respect for the guy cause he's going against the "norm" and doing what he wants to do regardless. Thing is, we're judged by what we wear, and furthermore, we dress how we want to be prtrayed by others...

People wear what they wear to be part of that "group", to be looked at from that perspective. From supposed hippies, to punks, to bling bling, to walking around naked, etc. Everyone has something to say with or without clothes. So to assume that someone "just decided not to wear clothes and walk around the city naked" were his only intentions, I think, is being very naive.

he wanted to create a reaction. and he knew it would have been a negative one for most.

What he could have done was setup a rally, get some people involved, voice his opinion, so people know what to expect. . . Try to educate others, make them realize there's nothing wrong with the naked body.

But instead, he chose to go grocery shopping naked, with no regard of people around him.

I'd like to know, for certain, (which i doubt you would tell me the truth anyways) when/if you have kids, or if you already have any, and someone babysits them, you show up at home one day seeing everyone playing in the living room butt naked. I wonder if you'd have any reaction whatsoever, and whether you'd walk by them without any negative reaction whatsoever.

Cause I know if I'd get home to see my kids playing with some dude, butt naked, I'd beat him senseless for even suggesting that there might be nothing wrong with it.

This is an extremly complicated subject. I dont really think what he did was wrong or right. Whether or I would do this, depends largely on how useful it would be. Judging from the fact that I would feel uncomfortable, I would not do this, especially considering that people are not willing and have no energy to use their minds. Work, relationships and monetary problems stop people from having a capacity to change their emotions and/or begin to intellectualize about them. I find no problem wearing clothes and I would mostly feel unvomfortable, probally under phsyical threat as well if I did such a thinng, thus is would just be no fun.

The problem that I have in this society is that there are huge differences in people. Its something that I cannot yet balance or reconcile besides try and change peoples opinions, because most those differences come from blatant misunderstandings.

Eventually I plan on leaving this society. I do not think it has the capacity to change.

I'm all for nudity and freedom, but this guy was in the WRONG.

ITS A GROCERY STORE! USE COMMON SENSE AND WEAR CLOTHES. THERE ARE SANITARY ISSUES.

when you're done shopping, Take off all your clothes and drive home naked.

don't belive it? will i'll prove it to you.
last night i saw the movie 'american drug war: the last white hope.'
in one part of this documentary, the director is interviewing a cop, when a call comes into the cop about, a naked who walked into a restaurant and, starts to shove icecubes up into his asshole.
the cop and director take the call; next part of the movie, "the icecube guy" is handcuffed and on the floor. the cops are asking him if he is on anything. "icecube guy" tells them he is tripping on pcp (angle dust)... yeah, that will cause people to do dumb shit like that!
i worked almost five years in an emergercy room. i saw all kinds of gross, sick and, weird shit brought in and, go down there!
the "icecube guy" is nothing new to me. i had that job back then and, i delt day in and day out with that type of shit. it just becomes normal if your around it everyday and, you just get use to it too.

IT IS JUST MIND BOGGLING AMAZING WHAT PEOPLE DO!

I don't really see it as being too unsanitary. Certainly no more than the average person fondling fruit with sketchy hands.(ew..hands) I mean, as long as he's not dipping his schlong into the Olive cart, or leaving wiener marks on the deli glass, I'm all for it.

nudity is god's way of proving the human form is NOT the most beautiful thing in the universe.

otherwise its not that big of a thing.

it just takes getting used to realizing diversity is the nature of reality.

Me, personally could never be a nudist.
I don't even like being naked when im by myself...

But theres no reason for you to think someone is a freak because they are a nudist... its like saying your a freak because you like to wear hats or something stupid...
As an older person and not a child you shouldnt make such a big deal about seeing that... All you did was judge that person because of something that he likes...
You never know, he might be the coolest person you will meet and your saying hes a freak.

reality is that there is no such thing as a nonfreak.
humanity is just not mature enough to realize yet that includes all of us.
