Certain emotions bask in the streetlights,
while others remain in the darkness,
    Body refusing to wonder anxiously,
    Mind refusing to wonder aimlessly,
    In this somber concrete jungle,
    A night filled with potential,
These bad intentions that we hold,
A desire for cash and gold,
Persuaded that crime is the only way,
To make our dreams come true,
Finally, a chance that opens a gateway,
To a world where the sun shines,
To a world where the sky is always blue.

    Mischief under the bright moonlight,
Not a innocent soul within eyesight,
    Darkness becomes our protection,
    Avoiding the authorities,
    Driving in the opposite direction,
    Smiling and laughing,
We looked at the back seat,
    Enthusiam filled our eyes,
    Finally accomplished the goal,
Yet when it was within grasp,
    Betrayal came into play,
    Forced to pull the trigger,
I thought it would be the perfect day.

A night which began with so much hope,
    Ended with so much despair,
The money couldn't help me cope,
    The two couldn't be compared,
    Ran to the sink,
Tried to scrub off the bloodstains,
    Realized I needed a drink,
A shot to numb the pain,
To stop me from going insane.

    Your actions forced my hand,
    I could never hate you,
    Because I fully understand,
    Gasping for air,
    Regretting my decision,
Trying to awake from the nightmare,
Crying aloud as the sky darkens
    Bright stars flashing,
    Prepared to take me away.

You took the time to create a work of art, 24 people read it, and only one person prior to me commented on it.

I say we gang up on those 24 people and teach them a lesson they'll never forget.
