maybe its my ignorance(probably) or my inattentiveness(a little) or possibly its my complete indifference to anything and everything. but i seem to remember obama being the candidate for "change". so what has he accomplished? what has changed? boop boop bee doop
Well he's approving extending some parts of the patriot act oh shit change Ummm well medical marijuana in California ..........no they've still launched raids Ummmm Well they're allowing federal money for stem cell research finally
yeah.. we voted for change.. because that's what he WAS.. because we changed from always having a white president to having a black president
Don't forget about fixing the deficit...............huh? Alright in 5 years the deficit should be back to where it was 2 years ago.
Ironically since most of the money hasn't even been spent yet it really wasn't needed, especially on that scale, but, BUT! The figures that came out today from the bipartisan committee on what the health care bill would cost over 10 years shows that the cost of the bailout was almost what it would cost over 10 years to give everyone in the US health care. The cosmic irony Obama!
Wooooo, post some awesome graph every time something in America be it health care, NASA's missions, whatever is deemed to expensive to do.
now imagine what the world woult be like if we took only 18% out of national defense and added it to science and technology, we'd have ray guns and rocket packs in just a few years
That's actually their administration costs, otherwise they'd be a huge chunk on the graph, bigger the defense I think. But they're "required" programs, their budgets must be met as is required by public demand and can't be changed, hence it's not part of the discretionary budget.
http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g2/nulwee/2009Budget.png There;s the true budget, SS takes up around 20%. Interest on the national debt alone is around $125 billion a year
on a side note, i wonder how much of that 58% goes to the manufacture of weapons that we already have too much of. like M16s or M4s. we got so many of those every citezen in america could have a swimming pool full. so maybe that money could go to research, agriculture, maybe a bailout for the citizens.
I'm the farthest thing from an Obama supporter, but give the man some god damn time. He hasn't even been in office for a year yet. This is why America is going downhill, because we expect too much too fast. Good things require patience and waiting. You can't just elect a new president and expect everything to be great after a year.
I don't expect too much too fast, I opposed the bail out on economic philosophy grounds, and now it appears it really wasn't needed and all that money would've paid for health care for the whole country. I will criticize bad policy no matter how long a president is in office. And again, approving the patriot act again Not repealing the no child left behind act Spending oddles and oddles of money, but won't give NASA the extra $3 billion it needs to fund constellation Obama has done good things too, but I will call him out on bad policy, especially when it involves a national debt that is all kinds of mind boggling
And isn't the concept of the First 100 Days based off of Roosevelt's presidency? And who was the last person to do something great in those first 100 days? I'm not saying that its impossible, but its HIGHLY unlikely for any president to do something as great as Roosevelt did with the New Deal.
Obama has done a lot in his first 100 days though, some good, some bad. And we're about 250 days in now
I'm not saying that he hasn't done a lot, he obviously has. I'm just saying its going to be a real long time before someone does something as great as Roosevelt did in his first 100 days.
No he's tried, I remember back in March people commenting that Obama may be taken on more then he can handle. His executive orders, the bill over health care, the stimulus, the tobacco bill, rapid diplomacy, the credit industry bill. And all of that was before July, Obama has done a lot
